It also leaves Corberan and Rohl on the table for the summer if the break clause between Saints and Juric is used - and means we don’t have to pay multiple sets of manager compo within six months
Considering who we are, and where we are….i am ok with this appointment. He needs to make THB captain and stop the Sunday/ Monday off ****. Also get the team fit, looked off it this season.
I'd be very annoyed if we'd gone with Corberan over Rohl due to less compensation but at least Juric has a similar style to Rohl and actually the culture shock the players will now get has been long overdue.
I like the sound of this to be honest. After the second half the other day I can see that we were really shackled by RM stubbornness and vanity and lack of flexibility. We aren't a top PL side, but could be a good lower half side. Yep, we may have left it too late, but 2-3 wins on the trot and Leicester etc will be looking over their shoulder and anything is possible. Pressing football, no playing out from the back and quick transitions - as well as being more solid at the back. What is there not to like if we play like all his other teams. BTW those moaning about the 'poor' 33% win ratio for Roma, that is roughly 8 games this season and 24 points. Will put us on 30 if he does that. Not spectacular, but a world away from what we were thinking just 7 days ago.
Ordered along with Italian Ways: On and Off the Rails from Milan to Palermo with a view to planning a train trip from Verona to Palermo for next year. Brought back memories of a terrific holiday we had in 2016 taking in Riva del Garda, Verona and Venice. In Verona we stumbled across the Verona fans bar in the photos when Italy were playing in the Euros. Absolute mayhem, superb hospitality, couldn't spend a penny, my new best friend and I became the drunkest men on the planet.
One of the many highlights of a super holiday, a week in Riva, couple of days in Verona then a week in Venice staying in a hotel not far from the Lido waterbus stop. Well recommended itinerary, best value was the 7 day waterbus pass, we were all over the lagoon.
All he has to do is to get us to not play low percentage suicide football at the back and let the likes of Dibling and Fernandes express themselves and the team attacking with more tempo and with purpose and we will improve and that will get the fans onside. Set-piece defending needs to be better and playing players in their best positions with no more "favourites". There is still much to play for even if we are effectively relegated and a cup run and a few wins and good performances will bring back a feel good factor rather than just giving up. COYS
I must admit, he does sound exactly like what we need; a madman who will give a boot up the backsides to these players who have it used to be cushy - still can't believe they all went on a 2-day jolly to Dublin for **** sake. I mean, we've got no chances of staying up, but it'll be a laugh.
I like tall Paul in the box. All arms and legs, very difficult to read. Defenders have no idea what he's going to do and neither does he!
