Linesmen lightning quick to flag us offside tonight, and the clear red ignored once more. Much better game, but the cheating continues.
No guarantee we would have made anything of the free kick or the man advantage given how little time there was left but that was diabolical from Hooper. Fernandes was clearly goal side of Quansah and was dragged back. Clear foul live and even clearer on the replay.
Tell you what, it’s also another reason Rohl would be a good choice. An aggressive press with this lot would give us a chance.
I say this with caution because we have flattered to decieve against top teams too many times, but the second half was our best 45 mins of the season at a canter. Massive improvement, well done guys. With VAR we would have had a very good free kick and Liverpool would be down to 10. I think there may be a question over Liverpools first as well.
Excellent 2nd half, albeit against a second string Liverpool. Glad we didn't fold and put a shift in.
Hopefully this is the new dawn. Good to see us playing proper football which brought excitement. Need to work on recovering the ball quicker as we let Liverpool calm the game down after we scored by passing the ball around. Need to work on anticipating where the pass is going and pressure the player receiving the ball, in the same way Liverpool did to us.
Encouraging performance and nice to see a bit of fight in the 2nd half. That gives me a little more confidence going to Fulham. Would take a point for sure.
I even couldn’t resist watching the match on Sky and for once felt a bit of pride in doing so in second half especially. Usually I can’t watch unless at the match. Better and great to see some fight and passion. Ok much, much work to do but whatever happened at HT more please!!!
Looking at the quality of the league, we are not down. Highly likely, but I have t given up the ghost.
