Pretty sure in a recent Pards interview he said that Carr and the scouts had several prospects thoroughly scouted for every position so i'm confident he will suggest somebody good.

Along with a Carr bargain from the continent i'd have a go for Bassong or Ridgewell as well, both of whom can play both CB and LB and can hit the ground running.

Would still be amazing if we pulled it off , he's an absolute beast.

Can't believe Blackburn got him for 450K from Hertha Berlin <yikes>

Interesting. He's probably better than Taylor and slightly worse than Colo IMO, but both him and Colo play as a left sided centre back, so one of them would need to adapt (part of the reason Colo was so bad first season). Could cover LB as well, as you say.

Not sure I'd want a defender who got relegated with a club.

I really want Pieters because he is only 23 and yet is the first choice Dutch leftback, and he can cover at CB. He has got a broken foot at the moment but he should be fit by the end of January.

Out of the names mentioned already I would like Bassong the most, he is adapted to the PL and is still young so even when Taylor comes back Bassong still has a future at the club which is more than just backup because he could replace Colo when he leaves/retires.

That's obviously a problem with Taylor being out, but if Colo was out for any length of time having Williamson and Bassong would be a great plan c. I'd prefer Bassong on the right half with Colo to Williamson as well. Problem is when Taylor comes back because Bassong wants to leave Spurs to get first team football and I think Taylor-Colo would be our strongest partnership, even though I agree with you that Bassong's slightly better than Taylor.

Aye it's very difficult to balance them all but Williamson and Taylor's constant injuries would at least present plenty of chances for him to play, and that is the sort of quality in depth we'd require to compete in Europe.

Sadly I think he's off to QPR so it may all be moot.

No disrespect to QPR, but that shouldn't be a difficult move to hijack. :D

No idea what he's on. The QPR situation could be similar to the one he was in at Newcastle come January though, and if we're on the fringes of Europe I don't think we'd even have to match QPR. He's always struck me as being driven more by professional goals than money or any team loyalties. Apparently he's on £50k at Spurs though, I don't think we'd match that.

And who in the other CB slot? Colo and Williamson are both expected back before January.

The poll options are massively unrealistic. I'd say we might end up with Ridgewell and if we're lucky, a Carr signing.
