As he continues to shine for Manchester United, Amad has reflected on his ‘unbelievable’ time at Sunderland AFC.

The 22-year-old took centre stage at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, winning a penalty that led to the equaliser before scoring a stunning last-gasp winner to defeat Pep Guardiola’s Sky Blues and turn Manchester red....

“Sunderland was my second time on loan, and I have a lot of beautiful things to say about the Club.

“They supported me and were unbelievable with me and my family and tried to help me in everything – on and off the pitch.

“They give me a lot of love and I enjoyed every moment of playing for Sunderland – I was so happy to be part of it.”

In addition to forming a special relationship with the Wearside faithful, Amad praised former Head Coach Tony Mowbray for the impact he has had on his career.

“Tony is like my dad – he gave me the opportunity to show what I can do on the pitch.

“I want to thank him and everyone at the Club because they were part of the project to help develop me.”

“I wish everyone at Sunderland the best for now and for the future because they are a beautiful Club.”

This really has been a wonderful time to be a Sunderland supporter ...

... but it's like the magic of Christmas, only special if you choose to believe in it :emoticon-0103-cool:

    Brilliant that.

Same as all these lads, let's just enjoy them while we can. How much better is it watching Jobe, Rigg etc than some of the ****e here for a pay day

A brilliant player. Man Utd have been crazy overlooking him for so long!

Being ignored for too long was part of his journey, I guess! Delighted for how he's doing now.

I had absolutely no recollection of Marc McNulty.
I must have tried to eliminate these memories, obviously didn't work as I remember all of the others :emoticon-0107-sweat

Sorry if I caused you to relive the trauma, but I have to so why shouldn't I share that burden with others?

Well a problem shared is a problem halved.
Just why did it have to be such a big problem.

Ah yes, but one thing we can say about those days is that the piss taking party was stopped. Let’s not forget that.
