It's still tight at the top. I'd expect Blackburn to win their in-hand game (home to Pompey).

We just can’t seem to put a winning run together, very frustrating.

2 points per game is usually enough.

Anyone watching the football tonight? How the **** did Southampton beat us three times last season. Absolutely getting their arses handed to them on a plate by Tottenham (at home as well).

They were better than us and that’s exactly what would be happening to us if promoted. We’re miles away from that standard

He was better off if they’d lost at Wembley. He’d likely be still in a job with them near top of championship
And Farke would likely have been scrapped <laugh>

Let's see what happens in January surely the club has learned from last season.

Maybe we’ll sack Farke and recruit the Southampton lad. That would keep some of the natives happy

We should get 17 points at least if we're to get top 2.

I see about 13 or 14 points. This team is not capable of winning seven in a row and frankly that's what has fans so upset when we draw a game. There's three or four potential banana skins in there. The three away ones for obvious reasons and the Blackburn game

There’s got to be a mental block in the players minds when we go away. Sheff Utd are top but we completely bossed them in winning that game even though they tried to park the bus.

maybe… winning losing drawing seem to be habits sometimes. There’s no doubt that playing the way we do leaves us open to the counter and sides try to feed off that, but playing the way we do has us second in the league. Honestly there’s individual mess ups and luck involved too.

You have to credit sheff united, Burnley and Blackburn for their organisation that enables them to win tight games. That part is not an accident. But you have to ask how often sides can hit the woodwork, miss guilt edge chances against them etc. I know people don’t like xg, but it gives an indication of chances created for and against. There’s no getting away from the fact that the blunts and Blackburn in particular have really ridden their luck. Not shown below but Blackburn would be miles off the pace fighting relegation. Conversely Coventry have been pretty unlucky, which is why annoyingly they were a good shout for Lampard. Only way was up.

Can this continue? I've followed this for a few years now and usually it's a reasonable indication of who might fall away and who might come good. It's why bookies look at this sort of stuff... and why we're much shorter odds than the blunts for promotion.

Does this kind of good/bad fortune sometimes seem to continue the whole season? Annoyingly sometimes it does. Leedsy innit.

Just buy a striker and we win. Bamford missed another sitter the guy is hopeless. Then all you predictions and tables would mean nothing.
