Ramsdale was one of the pundits on TNT tonight and he said the mentality of the players has been an issue all season. Especially how they respond to any setback, specifically called out the Utd game where missed a pen then conceded soon after and the game was gone.
Personally either Danny Rohl or Carlos Coberan. Danny Rohl and knows the club and some of the players and Premier League coaching experience. Saints were worse when he left. Has coaching experience at top clubs. Carlos Coberan is a close second choice.
Feels like there is a realistic chance every one of that list would say no to us So my guess is either Rusk, Lallana or Ankersen until the end of the season
I would give to Ankerson for the lols. He is mr football after all. Plus if he gets sacked then maybe that’s him completely sacked rather than just as manager
100%. What is needed now is a "caretaker" until the summer. Give the team a chance to show some potential (if any) and give the Board a chance to make a "sensible" decision for a change.
Bodo/Glimt guy - he's been there forever, is very highly thought of and appears on EVERY single list any time there's a PL job going. So presuming he'll appear on our list too.
Regarding Danny Rohl, the ability to sing the 'Daddy Cool' song is enough for me, but for those asking about his style - Danny Röhl, the manager of Sheffield Wednesday, has a fluid tactical style that focuses on attacking intent and high intensity: Front-foot defending Röhl emphasizes active defending and high pressing to win the ball and create short routes to the opponent's goal. Ball possession Röhl believes in retaining possession from restarts and allowing players to set up attacks. Adaptability Röhl is willing to adapt his tactics based on the opposition and the situation in the game. For example, he might shift to a more direct style of play in the second half of a match. Long passes Röhl might use long passes to trigger the press and create opportunities.
And here's why Vasco Matos might be sensible - https://totalfootballanalysis.com/h...ple Matos, defending in more static situations.
Okay, you’ve convinced me. If we can’t be free flowing, daring and creative (which obviously we can’t, with a Championship squad in the PL) let’s be begrudging, workmanlike, in your face, horrible to play against. And let’s keep a ****ing clean sheet or two. Obviously we won’t get this guy now, but we should imo.
Who ever comes in is going to have to get this squad fitter. It was glaring yesterday of how easily teams run past us and there were several players blowing after the 3rd goal went in. Teams even did it to us last season in the championship. I don’t think RM’s style helped this as he was all about keeping the ball which is a lot more energy saving than working hard to win the ball back, and I don’t think the players were prepared proper for the premier league which showed RM’s naivety and lack of experience. The likes of Rohl or Matos would be and should be longer term plans if hired, but I wouldn’t be against someone like Benitez, who would probably stick around for the championship as he did with Newcastle. Proven top flight manager who makes his teams really hard to break down. As a match going supporter, I just want to see a system where we are hard to break down, well organised, and the players are fighting fit. Let’s get the siege mentality that everyone including 99% of our own fans think we are down, and see what happens. You never know.
Don`t worry - our diligent ownership will have anticipated this likely sacking scenario, and identified and sounded out the ideal replacement ages ago. Maybe.
Whoever comes in, should probably be mentally checked over first; what sane managed wants to join this rabble, in our current situation, under these ownership clowns?
