Seems a good coach and as you said their recruitment has been poor for a few yrs now. Losing far too many good players and not replacing catches up with every team eventually Moyes was who I thought as well, he's the tried and tested option
Seen that Mowbray is open to working again, think he'd be great at Oxford. Got some really nice technical players that would thrive under him.
Used to manage Fenerbahce? Only seems to last half a season everywhere he goes if it’s who I’m thinking of!
A fair few Oxford fans unhappy with this move, felt he deserved longer at the club. Feel it’s a tactical move these days trying to implement a new manager bounce
It's a daft one, though, it can easily backfire. I remember Watford doing that and sacking Nigel Pearson when they were outside the relegation places and in ok form to get the "new manager bounce" to stay up, only to get relegated. Even a new manager bounce might only be a short term thing before reverting back up type.
Left field that one. Has been at lots of clubs now, after a good stint at Porto way back when. Used to work for Vilas Boas I think. Wouldnt have been my pick at all.
Poor decision imo. The lad has done an excellent job there and it looks like the players were with him. Not sure who they will get that is a better fit. I would like to see Schumacher get another crack at a job, still think he could be decent.
I think the higher ups have to have a serious conversation about what is going on. Pep signed a new deal recently and obviously he's won them everything but this is form that would get any other PL manager sacked.
