The problem is getting another club to pay the wages of these lot. I'm certain we are stuck with most of them which will restrict incoming and lead to certain relegation. Who on earth would pay good money in wages for our lot, even if they were available on a free transfer? We've agreed on a player at Reading but there can't be much wiggle room at the moment.
I don't know who it is, just that we have agreed on someone from Reading. Hopefully it's another diamond like Hughes from League 1.
If that is the case then it blows the myth that we can't go back in January for their players as part of the Selles deal.
Selles in his post match interview looked frustrated, prob wondering if he’s still in his cooling off period of signing! I’m usually ever the optimist, but admit now a tad worried. Selles has certainly got his work cut out. I didn’t get time to post after game on Wednesday, but could see a positive impact by Ruben on play within the first 3 mins, Palmer & Slater in particular got stuck in, overall deserving of 3 points. I thought the players would use/build on their disappointment & hunger from Wed to the Cov game, well disappointed with a poor game & effort served up. Pandur, once again, saved our blushes with a few good saves, although we did have several great chances ourselves to score, but like under Tim we fail to convert, whether it be lacking confidence or ability. For time being, can only hope Ruben may be able to work on motivation/confidence, other than that needs to be brave & ruthless in Jan. As for Coyle, he just doesn’t look right, been off it for last two games, if somethings troubling him off pitch, maybe wiser to rest him for his own sanity and ours, give Drama opportunity on his best side.
I felt sorry for Selles yesterday. We seemed to have learned how to battle on Wednesday night, only to offer up that performance yesterday. I think the lad knows what he's doing and hopefully he can squeeze a lot more out of them but they failed him yesterday, that's poor.
For this coming January? Dublin (I think it was him, not Acun or Selles) seemed a bit uncomfortable and unclear in his response when he was asked about signing players from Reading. I took it that we'd go back there but couldn't just yet, but maybe it was because we have already agreed a deal for a player as you are saying?
I dont think there is any such contract clause available. Legally it wouldn't stand up I don't think.
I don't know much about it, only that one is coming. It was a current City player that told our mutual friend.
Normally these gentleman's agreements would stand. Reading's owner genuinely wont give a toss and will sell to whoever.
Yeah I don't see any owner or CEO agreeing to that from either side. They need money so are unlikely to want to restrict who they can sell to. The only reason could be if they think they are facing us next year but that would be some serious planning for the future!!
I think there's mebbe a lack of battling qualities in one or two of our players but, I think the biggest problem is we just don't look fit enough for three games in a week - whether its under or over training, I don't know? I think this is the reason why we were so slow closing down, tracking back etc when compared to Wednesday night.
I thin k under Rosenior there was talk of over training and then when TW came it seems that was ranked up a notch...
Firstly Jim I do agree that it might be hard to get rid of some of these players but not impossible. Three of the right kind of players will make a big difference to any side and I think our new manager will be well thought of. He certainly was at Reading. It will be a lot easier to get players to come here than it was under Tim. Secondly I don’t think relegation is a certainty at all. I agree we have a weak squad at the moment but relegation isn’t decided now. We will still have half a season to get safe. Easy it’s not but certainly doable. The big thing we need is someone who can stick the ball in the onion net. Can we get him, who knows but we are not relegated yet, not by a long chalk. If they stick together and fight it out they can do it. Time for leaders on the pitch. A thing which in my opinion has been missing for a long time at this club. People like Honeyman and Smallwood might not be massively stand out players but they know the game. We need one like them now.
We didn't really press with the same intensity under Tim so I would imagine regardless of what they did in training, the players just don't have the type of fitness needed to do that for 2 matches in 3/4 days. The more they do it the more the stamina for it will build.
Name of City player, friends name, date of birth, address, weight, and height, otherwise you won't be believed by 'some' on here. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
As you know I don't give a flying fig if people believe anything I write. I've got half the people on ignore anyway ha ha. The friends address is in Eastbourne though if that helps.
How very odd, Eastbourne is where a good friend of ours (AF) lives . The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
