There's something not quite right with Mayenda ... ... just watched the highlights and he barely celebrates any of the three goals. And for the second two he should be bursting into the box but just stands watching. I haven't watched his reaction at the end, with the Sunderland fans, but goal celebrations always say summat imo.
I think he's growing into the role of captain as one of the more senior players nicely, bizarre at 23 but there you go. Reminder today that there's nothing actually wrong with his finishing ability when he gets his adrenaline under control.
What? He sprints to follow Jobe around the back of the goal after he scores and is one of the first to get to him and is right in amongst the scenes. and here he is congratulating Dan He's just a quiet, introverted 19 y/o. He's done nothing wrong.
I don’t know if I said this on here or OTR but during the game I said something is weird with Mayendas attitude, I don’t know if it’s because he’s now playing out on the wing after a good start to the season something along those lines. I’m glad I’m not the only one that noticed it but he doesn’t look very arsed at all. Against Bristol city he wasn’t switched on aswell
He doesn't sprint ... and barely reacts to the equaliser. He doesn't for Ballard's goal but that's fair enough as we were still behind. Let's see what other people think.
He's quite literally the first to get to Jobe behind the goal man. & Posted a picture after the equaliser, he congratulates him. He was involved in setting up the equaliser, that's good enough for me.
His body language can seem a bit negative at times, he’s definitely not happiest playing on the wing. My best guess would be he’s a bit miffed he can’t get minutes at CF since his injury, having started the season so well there in a team that was top. I thought he still worked hard for the team today though.
He did he just looks off or disinterested at times but that may just be his play style! thought he was really good minute 65 onwards
I think Mayenda has a great mentality, humble and hardworking but confident in his ability. He's a team player.
Sometimes as fans we read far too much into things. This past week is proof. I'm ****ing elated after that, I believe we could do it, I always think we have a chance in games, due to our never say die attitude and youthful exuberance. Didn't see the game due to work, heard some contradictory statements mind.
love the way he just sprints off in full celebration, then suddenly controls himself.. like 'no i must control my emotions, i must be a man in victory as well as defeat'
Dan Neil is and he's much further away when Jobe scores. Jobe literally runs past Mayenda. Rigg actually beats Jobe to the barrier, so does Isidor. I didn't say he'd done anything wrong.
