Bennie’s long throws will lead us to the playoffs. Far more effective than the corners.

Aside from Cardiff drawing, it was a good set of results in our favour.

Think the point of giving him some game time is to get him back to full match fitness

Absolutely shocking stat, but we have been like that for a while. Dread to think what Ashbys and Fields were on Wednesday

As we slowly move up the table, we must give thanks to the Wayne Rooney of this world, for sinking further into the mire….. or jungle for that matter. Colleen, can l come next time….

It was painfully obvious yesterday watching their crisp passing compared to our somewhat wayward efforts.

    Nevertheless, a valuable point.

We've been dire in December for as long as I can remember. And the fan base seems surprised each time. The differences are that we are unbeaten and we have beaten the teams around us instead of surrendering meekly. Of course injuries are a problem and all players do need time to recover. Chair is no exception. That's why you have a squad of 25 and not 12. I'd rather have him recovering than Willock sulking. I wonder whether he still likes the advice he got from his agent. I do expect us to improve in the New Year when players return and confidence grows.

The next thing which is as sure as our changing fortunes with the seasons is that fans will still fret that we are about to sink without trace when we lose the Cup game at Leicester. We won't . Move on.

I was revisiting Somerset for the weekend and was able to pop into Ashton Gate for the game, along with Mrs Rodney (who, by the way, is also a season ticket holder).

The first half seemed about as one-sided a match as you will ever see. Our passing was poor but we defended very well indeed and, despite the relentless pressure, we limited them to a small number of half chances. I can't recall Paul Nardi making a save in the first 45 minutes.

We were better in the second half (which was a low bar to overcome) but our goal-scoring opportunities were largely limited to breakaways, where Alfie Lloyd did well, without being able to deliver any end product. Their goal came immediately after Alfie was pulled over backwards by their centre half (no foul, apparently). Paul Smyth's goal was a shot from a monstrous distance and, given his usual shooting ability, I was amazed when I saw the back of the net bulge. As is typical, he worked his socks off all game, even when seemingly carrying a knock, and I was pleased when Sam Field pushed him forward to receive the fans' applause at the end of the game.

Whilst there was a lot to like in a difficult match, Harrison Ashby continues to worry me. I cut him a great deal of slack because he is a right back playing at left back but twice I saw him give his opposing winger an almighty shove whilst in the penalty area and his passing can be truly awful. I was having kittens every time that Bristol attacked down his side. Say what you like about Kenneth Paal but I can't wait for him to return as a starter.

Did we deserve a point? It's a funny old game and, as Marti says, you don't always get what you deserve. We were under pressure for much of the match but they had few, if any, gilt-edged chances and lacked a clinical finish. I wasn't happy about the refereeing in the run-up to their goal and, for ours, their goalkeeper will be criticised for coming so far out of his area and not getting the ball but our defence was immense. There are many ways to get an away point and we've suffered at home in similar circumstances. This was a perfectly respectable way of achieving that point.

I know where the goalie got to but haven't seen a long enough replay to be able to tell where he started from. Surely he must have been pretty far up the pitch already as I can't see how anyone would think they could get to the ball first unless they were stood not that far away. Crazy decision. Clearly he got it very wrong but has he been instructed to step up when the Robins are on top like that?

He’d started moving forward from a high starting point when Varane had the ball and was clearly going to play it up the line. Was like he was bored and desperate to be involved in the game after an hour of not seeing it. If he stays in the box there’s no chance that ends in a goal.

Have heard of goalies playing sweeper and who can forget Grobbelaar's occasional brain farts but I don't think even he ever attempted an interception inside the opposition half.

Modern football - Strikers fck around with it in their own box while Goalkeepers think they should play centre mid.

I get it but he's literally been like that all season.

We could have given Frey a few mins instead.

Bad as we were, the inconsistency of the referee was infuriating and didn’t help us get up the pitch. Lloyd is a limited player but he rightly played on Dickie’s side mainly as Dickie is slower than Kiwi after Christmas dinner and got nothing out the referee while the Armstrong v2 they brought on got a far softer decision to set up the chance for them to pump it into the box at the end. All day they got the benefit of the doubt on little decisions.
