Agreed. We could have been blessed with Dai Yonge (sp) (cba to check!) Oh wait… Careful what you wish for.
Must admit I thought we had lowered our wages etc and would still have instalments coming in for Philigene and Greaves for a while however we wouldn't have expected to be paying off Rosenoir then Walter and their coaching teams so rapidly, does paying off Managers impact our FFP limits?
Rosie has been paid and isn't impacting the finances. According to Acun in the Presser introducing Selles.
The difference between the Allams and Acun is night and day, you can accuse Acun and the Allams of making some bad decisions, but you can only accuse one of them of acting towards the club and fans with spite and deliberately negative intentions. Acun has come in with good intentions, tried to get us playing the attacking football we want, spent and invested what he can in line with FFP, yes he's made some seriously big blunders in the past, but he continues to try improve us, has shown absolutely no signs of wanting out, no signs that he's going to withdraw funding or anything like that.
I wonder how much it has cost to pay off Tim Walter & Co? Must be a pretty penny if he had a 3 year contract...
We had operating losses of £21m in 2022/23 accounts. That by rough maths is a loss of 400k a week. I’m not sure if Greaves and Philogene sales will be included in the 2023/24 accounts. If they are I imagine it will look about the same given the supposed wage bill we had towards the end of last season. But again that’s just rough estimates. The issue is that FFP is calculated a lot differently with amortised figures coming into play.
Chances are they’re all on gardening leave on the payroll still. It’s a common practice I believe to avoid bigger hits in one financial term. That being said if it was worth doing we could’ve just paid them off but Acun’s probably put them on leave thinking some club in Germany will probably hire him.
Acuns done exactly what the allams did until they didn't.... I'm not saying acun will go down the same route ( it's doubtful ) but nobody knows what's going to happen in the future and acuns money won't and can't last forever without some return for him.
He's not seen that money, the club has. If acun ever wants to see a real return in his pocket, he needs us in the prem.
