Coyle really tried to motivate the team after the second goal - he clapped his hands twice, no words of encouragement, no indication of being up for the fight - just a couple of claps - and there you have it in a nutshell, do they really give a ****
Strange game. We were dogshit in the first half. Palmer, Coyle, Giles and Kamara were all awful and it was utterly shocking we were 1-0 up. Bizarrely, I thought we were a lot better in the second till Alzate’s slip, but shipped two goals. Burstow very unlucky not to score though his final shot of the three was poor. I’d like to see him and Longman start the next game, rest Kamara.
To be fair to Kamara,I think he takes it upon himself to periodically rest. Might be best giving the lad a week off and throwing him back in when we've got a seamstress to sort some pockets into his shorts...
The problem is... that last season in January I think Mr McVitie was a contributory financial factor .. not so now... and we hardly have any assets..
Seller just has to be totally brave an honest. No favouritism, if you deserve the start through what he's seen in training and in these two matches, you get a shirt. If not, you don;t , no sentiment.
...and I'm sure he will. He has no legacy attachments to any of them. By next Saturday he'll surely have had sufficient opportunity to have formed his own views (from training and games).
Makes me sick to my stomach that we paid £4.5 million or whatever it was for Giles. Whoever on here said ‘he plays football like he’s terrified of getting injured’ was spot on. He’s a proper minge. Everything he does is so half-arsed from his crosses, shirking tackles and headers, positioning to name a few. Can’t wait for him to **** off.
Apparently, when he was hired by Reading he dropped a few players and was accused of freezing them out. He responded that he only wants to play those that fight for the team. He doesn’t seem the type to suffer grifters.
Yes Chazz you could be right. Something has certainly affected him. I believe he will come back in the future. He seems to be carrying a lot of pressure. I honestly don't know.
He seems to be taking all the pressure aimed at the team on his own shoulders, that’s wrong and it’s affecting his own game. He’s been the focus for so long now I think some players take him for granted. He needs resting but I don’t know who’s respected enough to take on that role.
To me he's looked jaded for 3 or 4 games now, hardly surprising with the amount of work he was putting in for the previous Coach.Their left winger had him on toast today but he did look a cut above and it happens. It's all very well replacing him and I'm not disputing that it looks the obvious call, but with whom? He got skinned a few times today, but I'm struggling to think who wouldn't have?
There’s only two possible explanations as to Giles’ performances. He’s either hopeless at this level or he is good but can’t be bothered. I cast my mind back to Elland Road last season, early on in game he shirked out of a 50/50. Didn’t improve for rest of game. Nothing since has convinced me that he contributes what he should. In game v Watford, he had the ball on the wing, Palmer was shouting at him to bomb forward with it, instead he passed it square to Palmer and stood still. I’d rather Jacob played there not that he’s amazing or anything but will give his all compared to Giles. It’s time he moved on as he’s not down us any favours.
Twice in 2 games now an opposition player has walked through our midfield and defence to set up a goal - when are we going to start clipping a few heels before players get anywhere near our penalty area?
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but I thought it was really poor of the ref to blow the whistle during a moment where fans refused to give the ball back. A precedent should be set to discourage that type of behaviour.
The game had restarted, it’s just that Burstow hadn’t noticed and was still faffing around in the touchline.
