I just think this is last chance saloon with the fans. One more stupid mistake from our ‘suicideball’ and I think it will get really toxic, really quickly.
Which Spurs forward hasn't scored for ages? Whoever it is, they must be licking their lips at the prospect of this one.
Thankfully I'm expecting his minutes to be very limited tomorrow - possibly even zero - after the fall-out from Thursday. Against any other opponent, that would be no great loss for Spurs, because Werner isn't very good. But against us, he remembers how to score.
I'm absolutely convinced that we're going to finish 20th (regardless of who is in the dug-out). But if I'm to be proven wrong, and we somehow are going to survive, then the turn around really does need to happen in these next three weeks. Five leagues games, none of which should be written-off for differing reasons. Spurs are very vulnerable right now, Fulham have a below-par record against the bottom sides this season, Palace and West Ham are having dodgy seasons, Brentford have the joint-worst away record in the league (hi Brentford!). If we could get 10 points from these five games, we'd be heading into the two-week break (for the FA cup) feeling rejuvenated and hopefully willing to really give the January transfer window a good go. 15 points from 20 games would be something to really work with. But lets be honest, we all know that we're not getting anywhere close to 10 points from these 5 games. Just getting one win is optimistic. In previous seasons, I'd have been really up for tomorrow, very confident of beating Spurs. But instead I'm just wondering whose turn it will be to give the ball away to gift Spurs a goal or two.
Any other team in the league and there is a possibility to get 15 points from the next 5. Any other team. With us, we may fluke 1 if we are lucky.
According to this Werner will be playing some part in the game tomorrow, unless of course we are so ****e he isn’t needed. I love the last sentence. “ANGE Postecoglou says he has no choice but to keep playing Timo Werner – despite questioning his attitude. But the Tottenham boss claims he needs fighters to save his side’s season over the next few weeks and warned it could be someone else feeling his wrath next. Werner got hooked at half time during Thursday’s 1-1 Europa League draw with Rangers with Postecoglou claiming his display was “not acceptable”. But the Spurs boss says he doesn’t care if he bruised the Germany forward’s ego, and that he will have to rely on him again tomorrow against Southampton. Tottenham are in the grip of an injury crisis and while Werner may not start he will definitely feature. Postecoglou said: “I’ve got no choice. Who else am I going to play? I’m pulling kids out of school. I literally am. Getting notes from their teachers.”
I would have gone to this game if it wasn't for the ridiculous kick off time. Christmas come early, some points to be had here. Can only think it was moved to coincidence with bingo evening. On its own, Russell Martin Two little ducks, Bednarek and Harwood-Bellis Legs, Paul Onuachu Eight and nine, 89% possession All the three's, points to Tottenham Unlucky for some, Southamptons fans
Seems we all missed the obvious with his nickname. Nothing to do with him being Scottish, more to do with how often he is seen
So spurs are missing both starting CBs and starting CMs? Also Vicario their GK is out too. Russ don't mess this up.
