Was flapping when the Onien change was made. However I think (or hope) that there’s something in what we’ve just seen there. Neil has been our best player in the last few games by general consensus. He’s been allowed by RLB to play himself through his bad patch of form. Hopefully today showed the same pathway is open to Rigg and Jobe. I think on today’s evidence they aren’t lacking physically. Instead it’s been a bit of a mental thing. Hopefully this follows the same pathway as with DN and they do their learning on the pitch. While I’d still like to see more players used (and perhaps a couple brought in) to give us a safety net, that midfield three on talent is up there with the best in the league.

For me the bigger conundrum is at the back!

I blame that Chinese fella Prince Andrew was cosy with ...

... the internet went mental today.

Couldn't get on the SAFC stream, the hooky streams were all over the place, the Blackburn thread kept coming to the top and some of my posts vanished. I'm half expecting to check my NatWest app and find out I've bought a Nigerian gold mine <laugh>

    cheers again RTB...

terrible start but the lads kept going, riggy finally got himself together in the second half and jobe started looking more like his early season form, isidor and mayenda kept running and worrying the defence, roberts a bit quieter but still put a performance in, back four were solid after the early problem(s).

but MotM is dan neil again, excellent to see him getting back to his best.

ref watch. least said the better i feel, seemed more than happy to give fouls against us but slow to give then in our favour, could have given grimes an early card or even a late one but let him get away with a few 'certain fouls'.

great result for the lads and well desereved, did not allow each other to drop heads and they all seemed to grow in height as the game got closer to the end.

I get the point you’re making but it’s the first game in about 10 that Neil has done something worth talking about. People can’t claim he’s a scapegoat when he’s rightly criticised for being ****e but throw him in the spotlight for his first arguable MOTM performance probably all season. Bit early to start claiming he’s the next coming of Hendo, again. Great performance today hopefully he can carry it into the next few games. For me the biggest takeaway from today is the mentality shift. For a group of young lads wins like this are massive.

I love reading these match day threads knowing the score. Some people need to give their head a shake with their knee jerk reactions. <laugh>
    What a win BTW.

Brilliant I backed us to come from behind and win after our fist goal and had us at both teams to score Sunderland win buzzing.

Great performance today, one he can be proud of. But as I mentioned before it’s been few and far between this season. Might sign that contract he’s rejected twice now :emoticon-0105-wink:
