That's 17 goals in less than one full season.... Still 5 games left to reach 20 goals for 46 games. Will he do it? Whatever happens, thanks to Leicester for selling us a goal scorer on the cheap!
He has scored more goals in the championship in a calendar year, since he joined us, than any other player in the championship.
Nugent is quality but beckford ? By no means convincing at premiership and championship level he is league one at best, tws did well getting rid of him. Fryatt has proved himself at league one level, is more than proving himself at championship level.
Beckford hasnt played in the championship before. He did well for Everton It took him time to settle at both Leeds and Everton before the goals came. Its just doing the same here The goals will come As for Fryatt he is a decent championship striker thats it. He didnt do much yesterday
'Decent' Have you not read the rest of the thread? He's scored more than anyone else over the course of a year. That may not make him the best striker in the league but he's still pretty damn good. He didn't do much in one game but still converted the penalty and probably should have won another. At the end of the day one game doesn't matter, he's still netted 8 times this season.
The annoying thing is just think how many more goals he could have had if he had put some of those chances away earlier in the season. Since Pearson left we've seen the Fryatt we had here last season. I wasn't impressed with Nugent or Beckford yesterday, though I do rate Nugent as a good player at this level. Beckford in my opinion is over rated and there's better than him in this division.
Thought we contained their strikers well. Nugent only got in behind our defence one all match and his shot was easily saved, unfotunately Konchesky got the rebound. Never really saw much of Beckford. Maybe that was down to Pearson's tactics in the second half, and the fact it was all us from 50 minutes till full time.
Fryatt disappointed me yesterday - When Nugent scored against Portsmouth (a previous club) he did not celebrate the goal, it's a respect thing that separates people with class from chavs - Then to dive to attempt to win a penalty! The guy has gone right down in my estimations
Wasn't so long back that I was getting mocked for my '20 goals this season for Fryatt' prediction. At the end of the day there aren't many strikers better than Matty in this division. If Leicester do go up, which I doubt, they'll need to buy again as what they have wouldn't be anywhere near good enough.
I bet he's gutted you don't think as much of him now. On a separate issue did Pearson celebrate your goal ? Grow up you ****ing clown. That is all.
Watch it again and you'll see it wasn't a dive; Bamba pushed Fryatt. It wasn't a massive push therefore it would've been a soft penalty; however, it certainly wasn't a dive.
I think you need to watch it again and listen to a a quizzical bleat of well there was contact rather than an expression of that was a penalty, as if he was trying to excuse Fryatt for going down - They did not say it was a penalty and even if they did, which they didn't, are they the foremost authority on all matters relating to football or have you ever posted on here that those twats don't know what they're on about Oh and Nick - Nothing to get over - Just commentating on Fryatts disappointing lack of class
I think Leicester should be commended for signing Beckford on £30-40k a week, it's like care in the community, if he wasn't a footballer, he'd be a car theif.
