With the new year rapidly approaching, who do you think the best signing of 2012 is? It's not all about the big money signings either, perhaps a freebie or loan signing has offered best value.....A few candidates: Suarez - as a LFC fan, I can't praise Suarez highly enough, although his finishing could improve a tad. Enrique - Has transformed our back line. Critic piece of the KK revolution. Ba - Newcastle took somewhat of a risk with him and it's paid off handsomely Aguero - Class, wish we'd been in the CL and bought him! Jones - Have to hand it to the all action youngster, he looks very good Adebayor - perhaps not a surprise to many that he's been a success Yakubu - Flourishing in a poor team It's hard to pick amongst these but just for pure value for money, I'm going with Ba - a free transfer.
We don't really need Modric. That would just be name collecting. And you missed Charlie Adam off your list!
Scott Parker at Spuds..£5 million looks a bargin. Added a bit of grit and graft to a traditionally soft midfield. For us Enrique has been superb, since he joined.
Suarez is a great signing, but he did cost us. For me it would have to be: Enrique Jones Parker Ba Bellamy For the value players: Suarez Aguero Matta
Wasn't Jones in the same(ish) price bracket as Suarez? Id say from a financial point of view - Ba Enrique Parker Cabaye Bellamy Suarez (expensive but still a bargain)
It's Parker or Bellamy for me but all the player's mentioned have been good signing's in their own way, I also think Adebayor was great loan signing for the Spuds.
True - the only reason I left him out was because he is on loan. Great signing though from Spurs point of view, although I don't see him keeping his form all season as that tends to be his usual pattern.
Luiz Carroll and Torres (joint 2nd) Luiz is unbelievably terrible, it's actually comical watching him play. He's the only reason I watch Chelsea play these days!! Was he like 25mil?
Id go as far as saying I'm a better player than Luiz, and I drink beer like a fish and smoke weed like a trooper.
Yes, plus some guy called Nemanja Matic went to Benfica as part of the transfer (who????) The weird thing is Luiz started pretty well, then people started putting him under pressure and sussing him out and he looked awful. He gets wound up by little things and tries to get to the ball everytime, no matter if there's a player ahead of him or not! He really needs to sort his head out.
