They sit 11th in the table, 6 points off the playoffs and 11 points off the relegation zone, so firmly mid-table. Their manager, Liam Manning, has been with them for just over a year now, and has won 18, drawn 19, and lost 19 of his 56 games in charge. As for us, two wins on the bounce, five goals scored without conceding, and up to 19th and 4 points clear of the relegation zone. Another win could see us move up to as high as 14th, and into solid mid-table, but it is a challenging away trip. I was so encouraged watching last night, particularly that we went ahead and kept putting the pressure on, and didn't sit back. Alfie Lloyd showed amazing composure and maturity to leave the ball for Field to score the second...so good to see, and a sign of how well he has developed since breaking into the first team. Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you are making the trip to Bristol, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Cheers Dave ..........err, Trevor Challis entry - wrong Brizzle. More importantly, all too often one of us says "Team that's not won at home for over a year, not scored for two months, hasn't beaten a London side since Domesday etc etc what can possibly go wrong?" Not to mention the irritating habit of former players scoring against us. (It's alright they've only got three playing for them) For once we can say 'won the last 4 in a row at Ashton Gate', before asking that question.
Ah. Damien Stewart. A perfect replacement for Danny ****tu and just as unpredictable. Solid and uncompromising but also prone to the occasional howler
Just been told I am going for lunch with friends tomorrow, but it is ok because we'll be home for the football. I hate early kick-offs.
Our/my record there recently has been very good. Was there for the game just before New Year when Barbet got the late winner, one under Beale and last season. Horrendous rain after the game last season so we dived into a random pub rather than join the heavy traffic and it was made quite clear immediately that it wasn’t a place for half a dozen very respectful away fans. Cider nonces. Anyway, heading down tomorrow at 7:30am with three others if the car makes it. Thanks Sky.
I was there for that Barbet winner, last time I seen us live...scenes when that last minute goal went in. Let's have some more of that on Saturday please
Nice one Dave I read somewhere that Armstrong out injured so only Nakhi to worry about the ex player curse Let's have it today
