"For what it’s worth I don’t really believe we have an ownership problem or even a strategy problem. I think we have what has now become a serious problem of execution. In principle, it ought to be possible to address that without root and branch change.

We’ve been told we have a top four or five wage budget. I don’t see why we would doubt that. My guess is that the teams with bigger budgets than us are Birmingham, Bolton, Huddersfield and Wrexham. I suspect that most clubs in the league have much smaller wage budgets than we do.

More speculatively, we’ve been told consistently that revenues are around £3m higher this season than last and if this is what was budgeted for AND if we are again spending up against the SCMP limit then it follows that our wage bill is significantly higher than it was last season, perhaps by as much as £2m.

It would appear, given this, that a) we’ve spent the available budget very poorly and b) that coaching and tactics are very sub par.

While this isn’t all down to Nathan Jones, much of it is. He set the playing strategy and hence determined the requirements for our summer recruitment. It’s also very clear that he was directly involved in and responsible for some, if not all of our summer signings.

This has got absolutely nothing to do with the 8-8-8 strategy which is no more than a way of thinking about how to allocate the money available for player wages. It is very clear that we recruited a certain type of player in the summer and with a style of play in mind. Much of that was likely quite expensive. None it can be said to have been a resounding success. Indeed, for now at least, it appears to have been an abject failure. That’s not down to the investors or to the strategy they are following.

The new ownership group had a difficult start, but right now their major error appears to have been to appoint Jones in the first place and then to move away from the DOF Head Coach model. They now face a major dilemma".

    Posted earlier today.

Ivor will not contest in his vile, foul mouthed way with this post. Why is that? Other posters would have been called fella and threatened with a red card.

Global would have no problem with it I expect.
All Mundell has really said is that we have the wrong manager (again).
He is - as always - bang on message over there.

They might rant and rave a bit over there in the hours after our latest humiliating defeat, but essentially they support the current SMT.
They don't mind the owners either, but that's neither here nor there as nobody knows who they really are.

Mundell and SR are very similar in their relentless normalisation of the decade long decline of CAFC.
It doesn't really bother them. It's an intellectual exercise. A hobby if you will.
And it dovetails comfortably with the Anti-fans (presented as Anti-CL) reason why that forum exists.

Ironically, in his one and only display of having a non Spock-like personality, Mundell labelled Rick Everitt “head of CARD propaganda “ :emoticon-0102-bigsm

This is somewhat ironic, given just how far up Charlie’s backside our Vulcanite friend has disappeared.

Even Grapevine has called Mundell out now.

I’ll spare everyone the three hours required to read his latest post, basically what he’s told Mundell is to stop making excuses for failure, that Methven leaks like a sieve, which is poor behaviour for any CEO, and that the buck stops at the top.

We have had three managers in barely 14 months - that is solely, 100% down to Scott & Methven’s scurvy incompetence.

And whilst criricising the manager, conveniently overlooking who is responsible for bringing the managers in<doh> you cannot make it up.

IMG_6927.jpeg Mundell does this a lot - he tells other posters what they are thinking.

The chaos of Jimenez and Slater <doh>

I know they were far from perfect owners.
But we smashed League One with 101 points under them, then had two solid seasons in the Championship.

Granted a quarter of the pitch was flooded and the big screen was broken by the time RD bought the Club.
But we were competitive in the 2nd Division with a half decent squad.
And Valley crowds were twice the size they are now.

Everything is rosy behind the scenes now? <laugh> Dream on.
We don't even know who owns the Club or how many of them there are.

Mundell is now claiming that the club is in good hands <laugh>

    Editor’s note:

    • Under this mob, we have had 3 different managers in the last 14 months, and achieved our worst league finish in 100 years last season.

"GFP/SE7 have paid £10m for an asset that on a 10-15 year view could be worth £500m plus as a Premier League club or £200m plus as a club in the Championship. If that’s their vision then the state of the squad last July would have been a minor issue, if not completely irrelevant. Though it probably has contributed to a very disappointing start and to, what appears to have been, some poor decision making".

I just couldn’t believe how myopic he is. I can only believe that he has not seen any of the games. The football has been the worst I can remember in all my time as a Charlton fan.

That is complete and utter bollocks. How much are we going to be worth in League 2? Football is simple. You get good owners a good manager, a good set of players and you mould them into a system that works. People like Mundell seem to be obsessed with XG, stats and the business of Football. The only stat you need is if we have scored more than the opposition.
Football is about passion for your team, not about XG

Anyone can have a “vision”. Having a vision is the easy part.

Methven had a vision at Sunderland. The fans drummed him out.

Andy Scott had a vision when he signed Bakinson and Fiorini, and told us they were good players.

The problem is that the people supplying the vision are uniquely s hit at their jobs.

Mundell and his bird-like sidekick SR really are in the final 1% of the fanbase who are emotionally wedded to this SMT.

No pasdion, no emotion, no intelligence.

    Automatons with rattles.

Even if @Dick Plumb1 rejoins ITTV, the offer remains open for Mundell & Hawtrey to join us on here.

Judging by Twitter & CL, around 1% of the fanbase remains down Methven’s underpants, and it would be good to have the pair of them that still are explain themselves on here.
