Oh come on! We all know that the video was edited by Acun's media company after he read the comments through his burner account.
I didn't see him there at the time, it highlights the benefit of replays and video. A few of the parents and I split the cost of a £2000 a year Hudl camera for our Under 10s team. Seems excessive to some we play against but it's almost a weekly occurrence that when I share the video with them they tell me they've seen all sorts of stuff they missed during the live game. Most amazing bit of kit for a coach, it's developed us no end and allows me to properly check things before speaking to players and parents. The fans don't get that benefit during a game and perhaps post on here before they've seen highlights. I'm not sure those who missed coyle getting involved were guilty of lying as such.
I get it…if my Auntie had balls and all that… Just saying our original targets both agreed to come here but both made last second u-turns. We were close to what looked on paper at least to be a good window. Moore contributed at Bournemouth in the Premier League and then 7 in 18 at Ipswich. Thomas-Asante was top scorer at West Brom with 12. We then had to settle on Bedia (poor man’s Moore), Burstow (unproven) and then Pedro (once we realised we’d f**cked up).
I don't think it's as simple as looking at players' scoring records at other clubs and assuming they would have had the same return here. Even putting that aside, their contribution to our build up play and attacking prowess could well have resulted in other players having better returns themselves.
Just the pace of Thomas-Asante would have stretched teams and given Palmer/Millar/Belloumi more room to operate.
Have either particularly played that much? I think when you equate their goal contributions Vs minutes played to full games played, then Moore is looking at 1 in 3 and Thomas-Asante 1 -in 4. Dunno how that compares to the players we actually signed in their place, but you also have to ask why they would chose play bit parts for those clubs when they would have been far more integral here.
Jesus you lot keep looking for hypotheticals such as the attacking assistance they might have brought ? They were bought to score goals but haven’t and it would appear are not as effective because they don’t suit their clubs way of playing or - are pissed off with their manager cos he had t spoke to them since arriving - LOL ( so they haven’t been selected ) I think some of our players never suited Walt’s style or couldn’t do it , I think Puerta could be better as he reverted to going backwards instead of forwards after his early appearances - he now can revert to his style - I hope!
I'm not sure what you mean by that when the entire point was that we can't make assumptions based on their goals for the teams they signed for when those are entirely different teams.
Exactly , but some were bemoaning the fact we’d ’failed ‘ to sign them , they can’t have it both ways - as I said before , assumptions , guesses etc don’t count . Players succeed at some clubs and not others , real quality tends to do ok everywhere .
I can't think of many players that were great at every single club they played for outside the absolute elite.
Ange Postecoglou’s problems deepened as a disappointing Tottenham were held to a 1-1 Europa League draw at Rangers and the manager found it impossible to defend his striker Timo Werner. “He wasn’t playing at anywhere near the level he should be,” said Postecoglou after substituting the German at half-time. “Timo’s first-half performance was not acceptable to me. I told Timo that he’s a German international, that I need everyone to be trying to give their best and this wasn’t an acceptable example. I expect a lot more from the senior guys.
When I mentioned coaches I'd worked for on this subject in an earlier post two of them were Australian. They don't mince their words and they don't take the blame for other people's failings! I like Ange, I've a feeling the current 'phone glued to their hand' generation of footballers probably don't.
Bollocking great strikers for a lack of effort is different to bollocking strikers who are trying but are a bit **** though.
There is a huge difference between professional constructive criticism and just being a mardy **** that no one likes.
Not in Punch, £3 a pint for regulars. I haven't checked the bill yet but I dread to think what I was paying in Pipe and Glass last night!!
I dunno where you got those figures from but they're definitely not for this season. Moore scored 2 goals and 0 assists and has played over 1100 minutes, so he's scoring 1 every 6.16 games (against an xG of 4.5) Thomas-Asante has played 768 minutes, 1 goal and 1 assist, so that scoring 1 in 8.53. Meanwhile, Bedia has 3 in 867 minutes (1 in 3.21), Pedro has 2 in 715 mins (1 in 3.97), and Burstow has 1 in 273 mins (1 in 3.03)
Bedia being awarded that goal the other night - when his only involvement was a handball that didn't quite get in the way enough to stop Mehlem's shot going in, nor was noticeable enough to attract the attention of the officials - seems very generous, and it kind of highlights how volatile goalscoring records can be when you're working with small numbers.
