I personally don't want to hear a word said against the lad.

We must support every member of our team equally, all players deserve their chance.

We must also trust that Pardew, Carver and the other coaches can get the best out of him for his potential run in the side, just as they seem to be doing with quite a few of our players, including, I would say, Guthrie, Best, Collocini, Gutierrez, Krul ...

OK, some of these players were already prem. quality, but the point stands that they are doing as well as they have ever right now, who says Perch won't up his game when given a run in the side under the tutelage of this set-up ?

I honestly think that if I were manager of a football team they would be banned from reading these boards !

I agree, thought yesterday he was decent. Give him a chance I say.

If he's getting time on the pitch and people getting on his back and giving his crap will only knock the lads confidence and make things harder for him.

It's a team sport not an individual game.

Had a very decent game yesterday, can't knock him if he keeps that kind of perfomance up.

pffft he lost his man for the first goal and was standing round like a lemon for the third goal. more than happy to get behind him and i never boo the lads - particularly not this set who clearly give 100% - but I'm yet to be convinced. Hopefully now a CB will be a priority till Jan but till then let's hope Perchy can do a job.

  6. Howay, it was a really difficult task for Perch to mark Drogba.

Drogba has 3/4 inches and about 3/4 stone on Perch. I don't understand why Perch was marking Drogba, It should have been Saylor, because Saylor really matches Drogba for strength and can deal with him.

Asking a little weed like Perch to mark Drogba is ridiculous really. It's like asking Shola Ameobi to try and match Messi for pace.

Lets face it lads, we wont be facing sides like Chelsea every week.

Pardew needs to sit down with the fullbacks and show them how **** they were and how you cannot leave that much space at the back.

It's one hell of a loss to lose both Colo and Taylor. Perch might play very well but he can't replace either of those two. Mike Williamson's season hasn't got going yet. I hope he is near fitness, but we sure need some of that Carroll money spent in Jan on a centre back.

Well, we're playing sides whose best striking options are Leroy Lita and a battering ram disguised as a human being (Grant Holt) next... so we might survive.

I don't care mate, he isn't good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near the team. Infact he isn't even Championship standard.

Worst player in the league and as a fan of the team I have a right to think he has already been given plenty of chances and should leave, and voice my opinion on the matter!

Perch needs to be drilled on concentration! Both him and Cabaye went to sleep and were caught flat footed.

We saw him chase down Torres and get back to make the tackle, he was unlucky that ball bounced back to Torres and no-one picked up Kalou. As for the 3nd goal - Guthrie and Sammy were on Sturridge, I fail to see how that had anything to do with Perch?

But doing it at the match is counter productive...I cringed over the Blackburn game and their fans yesterday with the commentators saying 'and the atmosphere changes again' 'cause they were so painfully fickle it ****ing hurt!

Perch was to blame for Drogba's goal. His consentration must improve and we might not be playing team's like Chelsea every week, but teams that are fighting for their Prem life and to get a result against these teams Perch has to up his game.

I say we give him a chance. Can't fault his effort. Put himself about and gave 100% yesterday.

This. Stop hating on the lad. YES most of us know he isn't Prem quality but you never know with a few games everyone's opinions might change about him. Keep the faith!

I feel sorry for him. Certainly did yesterday. He shouldnt be in this position.

The fans with half a brain have been saying all summer and during August that we needed another centre back, incase Colo/Saylor are injured............the fact both are injured and Saylor out for the f*ckin season highlights it.

What's wrong with Williamson? He's been out for ages. Broken arm? Ankle?.

Looks like Santon is going to get his first team chance.....whether its at Centre Back or whether Pardew sticks Simpson in their instead.

    Bad times ahead.

Whats so annoying and piss taking is we find ourselves in a position where our awesome season could start to unravel before our eyes that was Totally Totally avoidable!!!

    F*ck. Off.

    Raging.

Look at the bright side, the injuries couldn't have happened at a better time. Less than a month till the January window and the fixtures until there are arguably among the 'easiest' we've had this season <ok>
