The players hated Walter’s philosophy and Lewie Coyle let him know on many occasions both in training and during games. They threw him under the bus after Norwich, unfortunately Acun didn’t cotton on quick enough so we are where we are now. Tonight is a new beginning with Ruben and it appears that the squad are all on board. Fingers crossed. UTT.
Bedia seems at his best with the ball played to his feet, where he can hold it up and lay it off to someone else. He's definitely not a natural finisher, and he doesn't seem to win much in the way of headers, so we really haven't been playing to his strengths, when we've had wingers 30 yards away from him hoying in cross after cross to giant CBs, and no CM's playing near him down the centre. If not another striker alongside him, we at least need a proper number 10 playing close to him.
I think the quote was Ferguson winding him up saying Leeds and another team (can’t remember who) wouldn’t try against Newcastle like they had against Manchester utd. Keegan lost it and said the famous quote however Man Utd went on to win the league. Regarding tonight he’s not had long but may try another system, something as to change.
Not sure I'm going to win any battle of memories, but what I saw in most games was the opposition missing more good chances than we did, and still managing to beat us.
Not saying you’re wrong. I’ve suspected they didn’t like him or the style of play but it was just conjecture. Just wondering where you’ve heard this.
League One Manager taking his chance at the next level.....not going to get carried away yet. Since his appointment it's all positive talk...I will wait for him walking the walk ...if no significant change is evident within three games, this year will just be rearranging chairs on the Titanic. Tonight is huge imo. A change in team body language and belief in their own abilities to get out of the bottom three has to be evident from the get go. Two games since the yoke of Walter has been lifted has not produced anything. Why will it all suddenly change now?
