our boys have to fly to Kazakhstan Thursday morning, play a game over there in -11 degree celsius, get a plane back to the UK friday morning, then are hosting Brentford on Sunday. If they are concerned about too many late Sunday kick offs then they need to knock these thursday night european games on the head. No reason that the Europa league and conference games cannot be played on a Tuesday and Wednesday night along with the CL, other than greed in wanting to max out TV revenue.
for the most part, yes, but not every team is going to be in a position to do that. Infact very few teams will be able to do that.
All that to play a game at a team which isn't in Europe. Sunday games are fine generally speaking. It's the 7pm KO which is the pisstake.
Well its not a completely different squad, no. Cole Palmer isnt in the conference squad, and most of our PL first XI wont be playing in Kazakhstan, but they will still have to go. Players like Felix, Nkunku, Disasi, Sancho, Madueke feature often for us in the PL and will likely make an appearance in this game. Caicedo and Jackson are also in the conference squad but I dont think they will be travelling for this one.
Aye, well the answer to that is, stop giving European teams Thursday night kick offs in the ****ing Middle east. Like I said, Tuesday and Wednesday should be the european nights, for all comps. Its just total greed to milk more tv revenue
I agree that players should be able to play twice a week, especially for what they get paid. But the logistics of travelling so far does make it questionable. Man United can **** right off. Moaning about hosting Rangers in Manchester then driving to London 3 days later......like in that instance, grow a ****ing pair. They have a massive squad too. ****ing Manchester to London is like an hours train ride, or 3 hours by car.
