Oh I am not arguing that, although I have seen more promise in him in his pressing, he seems to love it, but you never know what a run of games can do to a player. We aren’t in a position to do that at the minute so doubt we’ll ever know

I definitely agree there. He wasn’t too bad at the start of January when he played a few games in a row but the handling of our forwards last season was ridiculous imo. The options weren’t great but Hemir would start one game then not feature for weeks, Rusyn the next fixture then Burstow would suddenly start up top out of nowhere (Millwall away). It’s no wonder we had a poor season.

Spot on with Dan Neil. He was a class apart tonight, as he was on Saturday. Have to disagree about Mepham though. I thought he was shaky at times and certainly nowhere near the player we saw earlier in the season. We missed O9 tonight and he has to come back in on Saturday.

I was very impressed with Mayenda and can see why RLB fancies him playing wide. He was probably our most creative player on the night. Isidor is beginning to frustrate me. He's not offering enough up top, is too easily knocked off the ball and seems to be lacking the confidence he was showing earlier in the season. Their defenders had an easy game against him tonight.

I think we all agree that Riggy needs a rest. It's no good for him or the team if he's not performing as we know he can. The lads knackered.

Alese looked dangerous going forward in the first half, putting a lovely ball in for Isidor, but did nothing in the second. Cirkin offers so much more and gives us greater balance on the left.

We seemed to lose our way when Tommy went off. Hope he's okay to continue because he really looks the part and his confidence levels are through the roof.

Great cameo and assist by Aouchiche. Please Regis, you've made a great start here, but start to use your squad more and give some of these fantastic youngsters a break.

Which is why I'm hoping we can get Samed into the deep role and give Neil more licence to create further forward, particularly at home.

    Couldn’t agree more

Even if Samed plays 18 games, it’ll be a positive if he’s as good as we’re led to believe…

Indeed! Seems we are in a better place, perhaps because of that, or despite it!

I liked the Browne signing and I know we’re missing a few but I still feel we’re short of experience at times. It’s a long hard season and gets tough when you’re playing midweek. Won’t go on too much though as the summer window was an improvement

O’Nien improves those around him! Is a must, regardless of what some will have you believe re Ballard/Mepham, they are both better with Luke alongside.

We missed this player and that player bullshit it will end in the manager getting sacked again with this weak lot, this has gone on far enough ****e teams come here needing a result and they get it, if these players cannot get a head onto a corner they can **** off as far as i am concerned, another wasted season. Yes the refs are 'fixing it' all right probably being 'bunged' by somebody but we will never know, 35,000 says a lot as well getting sick of watching this crap, 20 m for Bellingham lol yes please and bring Maja back he knows where the ****ing goal is.

Yeah because he can play there, and it would have caused less disruption to the team imo a like for like sub.

Pointless filling the bench with subs ya not gona use.

We spent months and months chasing him. Spent 2.5m on him. He simply can not be that bad. At least he grafts.

For me , if Connolly etc can get minutes, Rusyn should too. At the moment it's another signing then seems to be a big flop.

Yes, even though you are in what is deemed as an offside position, you should be allowed to put it in if its going wide, but as I said, the offside rules baffle me already

Is it just me or has Aji Alese been exposed a bit at left back. Teams targeting him, getting in behind so much. The cirk needs to be back in immediately.

I thought that last night. Thought Alese looked great going forward first half, but lacked defensively. I like Alese, but Cirkin back in on Saturday for me definitely

He hasn't looked comfortable at LB imo, I think he is a CB who can cover the odd game at LB but that's it.

Cirkin is just a different level both in and out of possession at LB

    Has to start on Sat

We seem to be reverting to seasons past.
We are not moving the ball quick enough from defence we showedd towards the end of the 2nd half it works more out of desperation however Jobe hung onto the ball far too long but that may have been due to lack of movement around him.
    Rigg does look shagged.
Neil played probably his best game not being anchored to the cdm role.
We did control the game but it's easy when a team sets up to give us possession mainly in our half.
RLB needs to be more adventurous with the subs.
Other than that we are still fourth onwards and upwards.

I actually think the main sub he made adil and connelly was a good sub but just made about 20 mins too late.

We battered them the first half yet they made 2 changes straight away at half time took more control in the game then scored and made 2 more subs to push on.

Our first sub after conceding was a left back for a left back. And then he just watched us try the same thing over and over and over, I had us down for promotion this season but the last few weeks haven't filled me with confidence.

    100% this.

I have no issue with us nursing Cirks back mind, as he is a key player, for me our most individually ‘impactful to the unit’ player. When Cirks plays well, we are better balanced, harder to slow down and we create more.

Ali should be coached as a CB, a quick strong left footed CB who is comfortable on the balm is a rare gift and he could be exceptional with focus.

Want to also add to the Dan Neil glow. Absolutely superb for last few games after a rocky spell.

You can not buy character and he’s showed it in spades. El capitano.

Didn’t think Riggy looked tired last night, just a bit off it, a mental rest might be needed I’d be so tempted to play AA as a 10 next match and see if he can take a chance.

I’m gonna say it, I want us is to blow our load on one of the forwards we allegedly chased in the summer

it could allow us to use mayenda wide which could see him get good mins and develop

additionally if we shift dead wood we couldn’t we add an additional player

for me we’ve got isidor as our forward and mayenda has lots of potential

the Connolly situation for me is a stop gap and he’s not ready to make impact immediately and we badly need impact

desperate for another midfielder for me to
