I think Le Bris is a very good manager for us, a manager with more to learn. I think the handling of the AA/Rigg/Aleksic situation is poor from him and whoever else. We've got a new 3 million pound centre mid who plays like Rigg, sitting on the bench and a centre mid with obvious talent gets on ahead of him, despite the fact he's been told he can leave the club. Now I know he and Ba had a tizzy at some point and were ousted, but the recruitment team/Reg have left us short in the middle by signing players who aren't ready/pushing Aouchiche out. That aside; Felt Neil was class. We suffered from Watson injury, Jobe especially. Mayenda was really positive, think he should play Central to offer more. If Isidor is gonna keep this up he needs to be taking his chances, he should be close to double figures easy. O9 walks back in, his presence is warming and positive. Rigg really needs a bench slot for the next couple at least for me. We said the same about Jobe last year. You've Aouchiche and Aleksic, or even Connolly.
Just been over the road and scapegoats are being pointed out, foghorns blamed for potentially not buying players and KLD need to spend or sell up. we’ve drawn, we are fourth, we battered them in the first half and the sky isn’t falling.
This is largely my read albeit I think we didn’t play terribly tonight. We’ve played worse than that and won, and imo it would have been a bit of a smash and grab if we hadn’t got something from the game. that being said it was frustrating. Obviously the injury to Watson disturbed us. We were completely dominant up to that point. However from there it basically came down to either end of the pitch. Ballard was cumbersome and cost us the goal. Isidor gave us little in general play. We were good down the sides tonight, and while the young lads in midfield are not playing as well, I didn’t think they were all that bad. Jobe was pretty solid and Rigg has played worse recently. Neil is showing what is possible when you allow a player to play through bad form. He was absolutely brilliant. How we respond will be key. I really hope RLB will allow Aouchiche a bit more time. I like him in that wide left role but he’d also do okay in Rigg’s role. As per Neil I’m okay with CR playing through it a bit, but we need him on a shorter leash. Jobe will have to tough it out till Samed makes his debut, but even if he’s just playing as he did tonight that’ll do okay. He gives us a backbone even on a 6/10 game. Up top is tough. Isidor is still the one I want chances to fall to, but he’s not doing enough in general play right now. Mayenda was great and needs a start somewhere. Depending on what happens with Watson it may give us a chance to move things round. At the back it’s tough to argue that Luke doesn’t come straight back in. Again that will be a tough message for RLB to deliver.
Just back home from the game amd read through the thread. We.mamaged a point somehow, but we're slow and the movement up front wasn't there. Thought we missed 09 at the back, Neil ran the midfield all game. Felt like a strange atmosphere in the ground, quite a few around me moaning at everything, patto not being able to ping 60 yard balls to a forwards feet as an example
i think riggy is trying too hard to get more involved and create, must have been at least three times he left the ball behind and rushed any shooting chance he had, basically comes back to what i was saying a few weeks ago, he needs a break from the team to 'gather himself', he is a damn good player but these young lads tend to take things to heart rather than simply accepting they can have a bad game or two and just play thier way back into form...roberts is a prime example this season of a 'bad game or two', could even throw neil in there as well but they have picked themselves up and shown good form the past two games. the lads are trying hard to put this recent run behind them, there is a little drop in the confidence but i feel the last two games have shown signs that they are getting there.
He should have been the sub that was made for Watson imo. Mayender was our biggest threat until he went on the left.
Feel like we’re too rigid and easy to defend against. Stop the triangles out wide and we don’t have much imo, feel like we should have used AA off the bench more the last few weeks. Neil brilliant and the other two looked nackered.
Think we could have made the same sub and pushed Isidor out wide. Definitely suffered with balance initially, although I thought Mayenda got stronger and stronger on that side. I wouldn’t be scared to see him play there again, although I thought AA did really well there and is another option.
Aye agreed I think Rigg is trying to counterbalance being tired and out of form by trying harder but it's not working, he's lost his edge. He needs a break and a chance to reset.
Not sure how you can possibly have seen enough of him to say that. You wonder what a run in the side might do to players. Not saying he’s been good, but can’t say he’s been ****e either as he’s hardly played
I’m not sure it’s as much about tiredness as all that tbh. He’s snatching at chances a lot right now and it’s playing on his mind. He’s had decent chances in virtually all of the games in the recent poor one and every time he misses one he gets more tense with the next one.
He has been absolutely woeful mind. He doesn’t look strong enough, quick enough or creative enough to play in England. Just a runner. I don’t see a Championship level player in him, would love to be proved wrong like.
Agree with most of the above. Lacking a cutting edge and Wilson really isnt anticipating those balls coming across the face of the goal. He also needs to be stronger against those big centre halves instead of going down looking for free kicks. It might be time to give Mayenda or Connolly a game down the middle to freshen things up. Dan Neil has definitely turned a corner, immense again. I also thought Jobe was excellent just with his strength and holding onto possession. Riggy was looking frustrated at times, its probably the first time since breaking into the team that things are not running for him, little things not coming off, shots being blocked etc. The frustration isnt really about tonight - theres a few weeks now where we are not seeing teams off and the coach isnt really doing anything to change it.
Correct. Garbage. Great moment down at Boro when he equalised but that was a terrible goalkeeper mistake. ****e.
