Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough
10th December@20:00 | Elland Road

Free scoring Middlesbrough are the visitors to Elland Road on Tuesday evening, as the Whites look to snatch pole position from their bitter rivals Sheffield Utd.

With the Blades not playing until Wednesday (at Millwall), Leeds have the chance to pile pressure on Chris Wilder's team, and pull clear of the chasing pack. It will be easier said than done against a Boro side who have scored 19 goals in their previous six games including a respectable 1-1 draw at Burnley at the weekend.

Michael Carrick's team are only one of two clubs to beat Leeds at home this season, running out 3-0 victors back in August during the first round of the EFL Cup. Despite this, Boro are seven points and three places below Leeds in the Championship table after nineteen games. Farke's men completed the double over the Smoggies by the finest of margins last season (3-2 and 4-3), suggesting an open game with plenty of goal-mouth action come match day.

Junior Firpo is a major concern for Tuesday evening after limping off half way through the first half against Derby, and with Byram also out with a thigh strain, Max Wober looks set for his first league start of the season. Alongside Struijk, Rodon and Bogle, the Leeds defence will have to be at their best to keep out Tommy Conway (8), Latte Lath (7) and Finn Azaz (6).

Ethan Ampadu and Isaac Schmidt will be eased back to action gradually whilst Ramazzani can expect to play a larger part after his third cameo role in a row at the weekend. Mano Solomon is beginning to find his feet, and looks set to make the left wing role his own after impressing against Derby.

Middlesbrough have a defensive crisis with Alex Bangura, Darragh Lenihan, Rav van den Berg and Tommy Smith set to miss out, with Carrick expecting to go with a back four of Anfernee Dijksteel, Dael Fry, George Edmundson and Neto Borges.

Strong team,I will enjoy watching the game but i fear a draw, the top of the division this season will be like a whores nickers up and down all the time, really tight this season for consistency

This is a must not lose kinda game.

A draw would be just about okay in the grand scheme of things. It keeps the gap between us and Boro

they’ve been missing those defenders for a while, and been on a good run without them

tough game this one… just looked ahead at fixtures and they have a pretty easy schedule coming up. We could do with 3 points to stretch the gap on them

On Paper the two best attacking sides in the division. both sides squander boatloads of chances. Should be a good game, Boro will deffo not come parking the bus. Really looking forward to this one. watch it be a boring 0-0 lol. Seriously though I rate Boro a lot they are one team in this division I wouldn't like to face in a knockout situation. This will tell us were we really are if we come out of this dominant with a good win we have nothing to fear. Things have to click tomorrow night as I think both sides will have numerous chances and both sets of fullbacks will be heavily tested and it could come down to who is the most clinical infront of goal. win this and Im pretty sure we will be top of the league Xmas and New Year. Bring it on ya smoggy Barstewarts.

With the attacking pace of both sides, there's scope for penalties in this one. Need our midfield to keep them out of the box as they get a reasonable number of corners.

starting to bubble up cmon the whites. quite nervous for this one just feels like a proper game and Ive got a lot of emotion am well up for it. MON THE WHITES!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a big game feel to it. Think he’s gone with Gnonto over Solomon to help out defensively with wober. This game’s a pick em for me. I’m with emu though… it’s a mustn’t lose more than a must win
