I think they've become too good at set pieces. So good that they're actually playing for them, and so many of their players have regressed in open play in attack.
We might have the "deeper squad" but i would say that liverpool side being thin or not, its comparative to the chelsea team. Keeper Jorgensen/Sanchez vs Kelleher/Allison. No brainer the liverpool duo Gusto/James vs Trent/Bradley. No brainer, liverpool duo (and james is a crock) Badiashille/Colwill/Fofana/Disassi/Tosinvs Gomez/Konate/VVD/Quansah. No brainer VVD and Konate is the better duo and the depth is similar Robertson/Tsimikas vs Cucurella/Chilwel. I prefer robertson here but tsimikas is the weakest. Enzo/Caicedo/Lavia/Chukwuema/Dewsbury Hall/Casadei/Veiga/ vs Szoboslai/Jones/Endo/Gravenburg/Maccalister/Elliot - I prefer ours only because of caicedo. Depth wise similar talent Palmer/Neto/Sancho/Mudryk/Madueke vs Salah/Diaz/Gakpo - Our depth is bigger but your first team is better Jackson/Felix vs Nunez/Jota - pretty similar. Not sure we have that much more depth and quality than your team
Have to largely agree, your problems are all at the back and you simply won't prioritise the conference lesgue at any point.l so you don't actually need depth par se. You need the front 6 to stay fit and available to maximise your return However the difference will be the players we have been negligent on looking after. Vvd and salah in particular will drive us and if they do it for a full season we will accumulate more points overall as i think you will struggle more v the top 6
Difference is we’re playing in LC wi th potential 2legged tie in semi and CL where as you’re resting you’re entire first team in every mid week game so you don’t need the depth atm.
Agreed. However if given the choice between the better team and 2 competitions or the slightly inferior team and 1 competition, i'd prefer the better team. Theres a reason why the top 4 normally remain the top 4 even though they have more competitions to go through (maybe better depth?) and thats because their players and their sides are normally better.
Chelsea will cruise top 4. Can’t see anyone other than lfc Arsenal Chelsea city getting it. Ther rest just aren’t good or consistent enough.
It would be a proper collapse if we get relegated from here. And tbh 35 points might already be enough.
Out of curiosity - why Feburary? You seem to be a bit of a we'll-score-one-more-than-you team at the moment, and they don't win titles because they drop points in too many games. But so far you're more consistent than either Man City or Arsenal, so I think you've got a good shout of being there or thereabouts if we start slipping up.
