Think I saw a joke about this once where a bloke asked where he stood and the delivery company said “in your living room by the sounds of it”.
Bit of a ****ty 24 hours - middle daughter had a crash on her first day skiing in Les Deux Alpes yesterday and prognosis from clinic is that she has ACL damage in her left knee - will need MRI scan after she gets home at the weekend - bit tearful on the facetime call but she can walk and has a knee brace - so hoping she can enjoy the rest of the trip with her mates despite not being able to see - one of the lads has a broken collar bone and a girl with a hip injury, so at least she's not the only 'walking wounded'
unlucky, but she can at least hang out with her mates. Hope its not a proper ACL and she gets well soon
All the best to your daughter bro Wasn't her turn to help in the kitchen this Xmas, was it? (On phone so can't put up Columbo gif)
Morning. Got my appetite back finally. Had a chicken club sandwich and sausage roll from Tesco for starters followed by a fish pie for two for dinner. First day back in gym now. One meeting I’m dreading today then nothing too bad can happen all week.
No she was just unlucky - the boot on the left leg didn't detach when she went over - she's on a trip with a mix of old schools and uni mates that is an annual event - the other 2 injured had their injuries pre-trip but travelled anyway - there is a festival at the place 'the Rise' or something ...
My daughter goes with school on Friday. She can ski, very good too, but knowing her she'll say she's a beginner so she can mess around with friends and waste the week. You say you're in Cardiff? As am I today, cold innit. I'd buy you a coffee but don't want to risk your life or anything.
Did my ACL when I was about 25 and it’s ****. If it’s going to happen then better it happens when you’re young. The rehab is incredibly boring. Would absolutely go private if that’s an option assuming she needs an op.
Thanks for the offer buddy, would have loved to but we are now in Ystradgynlais having left Cardiff yesterday - looks like I'm shovelling the drive today as two people have slipped over in the muddy puddles recently .... we'll be driving back home sometime tomorrow as I'm back in London on Thursday...
Agree - re private etc I had mine at 19 - was a complicated op that also involved taking a tendon from one side of the knee to the other - ended any thoughts of being a pro but I did recover to play semi-pro ... and into my late 30s - was very lucky with the surgeon, was a specialist sports surgeon, John Williams, who was the British Olympic team consultant at the time - an osteopath in Leicester who was an old boy from the grammar school I went to had been one of his 'housemen' and gave me a referral- had the op at Wexham Park hospital near Slough - first time I'd ever been that far south bar school trips and following LCFC ... in plaster for weeks at Uni - took a long time for total recovery ...
