Not sure what’s worse.. Keeping Martin, or finding out that everyone at the club are a bunch of ****ing dossers
I have a vague memory of it being cancelled in recent history, so probably last time we got relegated. Or was that just the player awards night?
Couple I know cancelled there season tickets a few weeks ago. Wonder if the club notices an uptick in that soon
Clearly, the players and management are completely and utterly ignorant otherwise they wouldn't be having a ****ing Christmas party. It really is no wonder Martin is so popular with the players if they get 2 days after each weekend match off. I'm actually really angry about this. It really is no wonder the same mistakes keep on happening - clearly the players aren't spending enough time on the training pitch. They should be doing double sessions like Poch did.
I'm seriously debating it, especially as I pay monthly. But ultimately it gives the Mrs a break when I take the kids. If it was just me I'd have ****ed it off ages ago. It's unbelievable that we've got 5 points from ****ing 15 games. Only under these SR ****ers could the team be relegated before the first door on an advent calendar is opened and the manager be sitting comfortably knowing his job is safe. Chaos from top to bottom.
Literally the only reason I'm not cancelling my direct debit is that the club will most likely close that option off to me in the future if I cancel. And despite everything, I'm still enjoying the away games.
It absolutely explains the relative lack of fitness which has been painfully obvious since about week 3 of the season. Unforgivable to not even get the basics right really when you have such a lack of quality. Amateur Hour FC
If/when we change the manager his replacement really, really doesn’t have to be another manager who wants to play in the exact same way. Yes it’s good to keep possession but it doesn’t always have to be in and around your own penalty area. Good managers mix it up, playing short AND long. It’s not the fans fault that the club keeps on investing in midget or broken strikers, which gives RM the chance to not play the occasional long ball. I think the players we have will adapt to a different style of play simply because they are probably more used to playing a more direct style that they have grown up playing. Martin’s style is simply passing the ball in the wrong areas of the pitch.
Less cool PE teacher who favours the football lads, more no nonsense deputy head who cares about the actual school please.
Not sure they definitely had a Christmas party but you wouldn’t be surprised. Either way, having 2 days off in a row when you’re in the predicament we are in? Guess Bozo has other things on his mind if you know what I mean
The lack of mixing it up is what so often leads to our downfall. Teams can push right up on our defence without any fear of being caught out with a long ball into a channel. I didn't see/hear it myself but a colleague said to me recently something that Souness said which sums it up perfectly. Was basically along the lines of that when he was at Liverpool although they were the best passing team around they always hit a long ball over the top for Rush early in a match to make the opposition fearful of over committing in closing them down.
We're Saints fans. We're happy enough with lack of quality, in fact we pretty much expect it barring one or two outliers. But what our fan base will never accept is a lack of ****ing effort. RM doesn't give a **** about running/fitness because it's not part of his "philosophy" In fact whenever we do get a new manager in and he says in an interview he has a philosophy I'm going to dislike him immediately. I just want someone who can make tactical changes depending on the opposition and someone who wants to try and win games. It's a ****ing low bar to be honest
Yeah same Tom. Looks like people I know that cancelled were paying by instalments so not sure if they will get that option next season if the want a season ticket again. The whole thing is just ****ed from top to bottom
Agree. Most of us have been through many relegation battles which fortunately for some of us older ones, had a certain Matt Le Tissier, to thank for keeping us up many times. But what we always had was a togetherness. I remember Micky Evan’s scoring a brace at Forest, to the excitement of the Chris Nichols team of the young players like Rod Wallace coming through. And none of those times did we go through times like this, 5 points from the first 45, making the same mistakes time and time again, and a narcissist of a manager.
All I want is 100% effort being made by everyone to try and fix the mistakes that are happening on the pitch. This is clearly not happening. Martin is too busy being everyone's best mate to actually do any proper managing. I just can't get over the fact that the players didn't train today. Martin was probably at home having a **** at the video of all the passes we completed on Saturday before ****ing his ex-page 3 girlfriend.
The two days off regardless of results is ridiculous. Like most here probably I am contracted to work for 5 days a week. However, most weeks I work over on most days and during production outages etc I will do a 6 or 7 day a week. Don't get overtime, but will get time off in lieu if I want to, but most times don't take it as it is swings and roundabouts for other days that I may take it easy (eg just walked the dog for an hour in the middle of my working day) I am not paid £20k+ per week either to do this. It is called giving a **** about your job and prospects.
