Very predictable - I put a fiver on it at 2-2 (I wrote the post at 2-1 and thought of it at 2-0 ffs)

Checked the odds when went 2-2. Chelsea were Evans for the win compared to spurs at 7/2. Bookies aren’t stupid.

Does Postecoglu understand the concept of being defensive and trying to control the ball and take the sting out of the game and not allow the opposition back into the game?

It’s one thing for Flange to moan about the result but it’s down to him.

2-0 up and they could have shut that game down.

Suicidal pressing, passing and playing out from the back cost them. I mean one of their CB's injured himself trying some Cruyff turn inside his own box, madness.

I said it during the game, Spurs are just Southampton with slightly better players, they cost themselves the game more than the opposition taking it away from them.

They were getting played through time and time again and did nothing to change it. Nothing.

They didn't necessarily have to go defensive, but change the formation, bring on fresh legs. Anything to combat what Chelsea were doing.

Only have to go back 12 months. Spurs go down to 9 men and are holding a line on the half way line 20 yards away from the man on the ball.

Not a bad weekend for us then. City and Arsenal drop points and only Chelsea won. They’re the threat imo - they can easily manage injuries and rotate for Europe with a completely different team. If we wobble; and I think we will, they’ll be close.

Their defence shouldn't hold up. It's pants. They have to get the results like yesterday off the top 6.

    Arsenal.are the biggest challenge.

Agreed. It's coming together for them but they're also pretty poor defensively still and heavily reliant on Palmer.

Anyone but Spurs yesterday and they drop points after a shocking opening 10 minutes.

Hopefully Arsenal keep up this 'play for set pieces' mindset as it's seriously harming their normal playing style.

Arsenal or i should say arteta is an odd fish.

He seems to have no scruples and no principles at all.

His team are dirty. They are the first ones to hit the dirt or surround the ref or jump up and down calling for cards.

They went hard and intense for a while and it worked but they blew up v city then cracked mentally.

They then decided to be don't lose merchants and failed.

Now he seems to want 4 cbs at the back and have a lanky havertz and play for set piece.

They are actually going backwards when they should be cantering away with this prem if they stuck to basics.

    I just don't get him

It is definitely odd, maybe buying in to his own hype and overthinking things etc?

Main issue is their forwards, Jesus is barely a footballer anymore, Trossard looks garbage now he is actually being relied upon to start games and Havertz is ok, but the purple patch has worn off... He was never going to be banging them in week in week out.

Currently either Saka must do something spectacular or please give us a corner.

They seem to have lost form under him and nobody seems to want to sort it.

Martinelli is better than what he is showing.

Jesus doesn't seem pushed but I'm sure if he was first choice 9 he would do something.

Thry need to get back to basics and thst included zinchenko at lb for me.

    Yes.

(Answering your question from another thread, winds got stronger during the day, tore roofing off shed but it's very old and needed replacing anyway. Not tiles off the roof strength that we've had twice this year but easily too strong to play football.) Thanks for asking <ok>

There's no major damage locally, like fallen trees, and there are a lot of trees around here but city centre had some structural damage to tall buildings, not sure what but message was to stay away until cleared up.

We aint ready to challenge for no title yet and will fall away come February.
Our forwards and midfield have clicked but our defence is very mediocre and our keeper options are utter ****e.
We need a new starting CB and GK signing before we are ready to challenge.
Still think we will finish 4th, maybe 3rd if City and/or Arsenal continue to slip. But no way we are winning the title.
If Sanchez lifts the PL trophy in May it'll be a damning indictment on this league

Some would have said Leicester wern't good enough or ready to win the title when they did... and probably if every single "big team" didn't have a bad year that year, maybe they wouldn't have... but I wouldn't at all rule Chelsea out- you've got the points... Arsenal and City have both proven themselves fallible to dropping points when you wouldn't expect them.

As for Liverpool, we've been near bullet-proof so far, but we're fairly thin- it wouldn't take too many injuries to scupper our season, and even without injuries we haven't yet experienced a slump with Slot, we don't know if he has the mettle to reverse one. I remember Rafa was a good manager for us most of the time, but he always had a hard time turning a slump around when one started... we don't know yet if Slot is any better at remotivating a team that stutters. We're going to have a nasty season-end, and if we're doing well in cups, it might be really harsh on us. I don't think we're safe yet.
