That was all on us for throwing away that win. Really poor goalkeeping from Muric for the equaliser. Great atmosphere in the ground until that Bournemouth winner though. I thought O’Shea and Burgess were solid - Burgess in particular had an amazing first half (assist and goal-saving tackle). Johnson struggled a bit at right back with lack of defensive cover from Hutchinson. Saying that, he’s still a massive improvement on Harry Clarke. Chaplin took his goal well and played positively, probably should’ve had a second in the second half. Delap looks gassed. Really ineffective and poor performance. Not sure why our game plan was Muric long balls to Delap - didn’t work. Taylor looked a little over-rawed in central midfield. Definitely missed Cajuste’s control in the middle - probably needed to be rested though. Morsy also made a few big mistakes in the first half, which we were lucky not to concede. Relegation on the cards, lads. This team just isn’t good enough. We don’t have the squad depth either. No shame in saying it, was always going to be a massive challenge to stay up. Kieran waited to make changes in the second half, but as soon as a few first teamers depart - the quality just isn’t there. Two late goals sunk us.
I genuinely hate Muric. What an absolute liability, and.embarrassing that he gets ahead of Walton. Need to drop the lanky string of piss.
Unfortunately at this level almost any subs we bring on weaken rather than strengthen the side.I know Delap and Szmodics we're both blowing but the loss of the latter particularly meant we were going to struggle to see the game out. Yet another game where we got less than we deserved.
Gaffers take. Proverbial game of 2 halves. We started at great pace and the Cherries couldn't get near us. Great to see Chappers enjoying himself and took his goal well. Hutch, Chappers,Delap and Sammie all linked up well, and several chances to get the vital 2nd went begging. Defense was solid & Burgess immense. 2nd half they came into their stride. Delap looked knackered & ineffective from about 60 mins and he failed to keep hold of the ball and invited pressure back on us. Bnmth were stronger and fresh with 5, yes 5 subs. KM delayed his til late. Altho our energy improved after the changes, they were clearly the better team by now, even tho we were still a threat in their half. Al-Hamadi for Delap was ok, and the latter was on a yellow again. I was hoping either Phillips or Cajuste would come on. And Burns and Clarke coming on to see the game out didnt fill me with confidence.Jack Taylor went off his game too in the second half. Then, it all went t...ts up last 8 mins. Muric crazily abandons his goal line. They score and all the momentum was with Bournemouth. Must surely be time to bring back Walton. Questionable VAR decisions but once again, fine margins cost us. I was actually very encouraged by our 1st half performance, but maybe we are just not good enough for the Prem. Very disappointing and we are now slipping into tbe murky depths of relegation strugglers. I fear relegation beckons. Not the way I was hoping to celebrate Xmas. Maybe Father Xmas will cheer us up and come riding into the PR ground with a couple of Suffolk Punches.
