Yes, this is the place to come for facts, logic and reason. A bunch of bitter old men pining for the days of Terry and June, smog, coal fires, Tizer and the blitz.
70s was way better imo. T. Rex and Led Zeppelin, Oxford bags, boob tubes, Saturday Night Fever, Saints winning the FA Cup, Players No6, Whitbread Tankard at 20p a pint…
Tank tops and flares, the 70s was the greatest decade for fashion and music. Led Zeppelin were ****ing **** however. Pretentious ****ing drivel for smackheads
Terry and June – BBC TV Series 1979 to 1987. Smog –air pollution commonly associated with London, eliminated in the 1950s. Coal fires – presumably fires burning house coal, until 2023 when selling domestic house coal became illegal. Tizer – drink created in 1924, sold to present day. The Blitz – Luftwaffe bombing campaign on London 1940-1941. Given that two of the five could not have co-existed with the other three, there appears to be a lack of logic, reasoning and facts here. Only persons over the age of 83 could pine for drinking Tizer during The Blitz. Not sure when statue whispering started but it seems to be a minority activity these days.
I admire the amount of research you put into that post. I never knew that about house coal. A most rewarding read.
That tree is a gift from the King of Norway. London gets one every year, in gratitude for the country’s role in defeating the Nazis. You really are a deeply ignorant ****, falling for failed bot-tweet like that.
