Feel like these all slightly differ from something as black and white as if he’s overweight or not 1. Cirkin will have been consulted and agree to play, as soon as Alese was fit we sent for an op 2. Samed came with a minor injury and it’s impossible to know it would’ve reoccurred he was so close to his debut 3. Browne didn’t have clean break. Same way Maguire came back on. Impact injury was the initial thought with a pitch side assessment they couldn’t have possibly known it’s broken Browne will have agreed to try then sat straight back down 4. Yeah I get the poveda thing but I feel like it’s a chance to let him settle and attempt to get fully fit. so yes I’m going to stick with the professionals at the club rather than fans thinking he’s a stone overweight when he’s obviously not or he wouldn’t be playing
Sorry but that's not true, it's an urban myth. Anyway, I'm keeping out of this, we've just won for the first time in a month so I'm going to enjoy it
It's not and frankly we who raised this before signing have been absolutely correct to do so. He hasn't really been seen this season. But yes mate, you should. Sterling effort today.
I am also not causing a stink. Just having some thoughtful and respectful debate whilst watching the boxing.
He didn't have a poor injury record before he came, check the stats. It's a 'fact' that sprung up at Sheff Wed.
I did. There was lots of games missed due to different reasons. I think it's fair to say he has been completely unfit here ? I mean has he played 90 minutes? In half a season? I would honestly say the suspicious nature of his injuries have lived out exactly so far here.
Saw young George at (what I imagine was his first game today) probably 2.5 to 3 and we blew raspberries and played cars; talked to a lad who was around 8 or 9 and was as hard as nails with his “difficulties” and no gloves (hope santy brings them for Christmas or else I will); and a wee lass on the bus (can’t remember her name) but wasn’t just a mascot but held Tommy Watson’s hand on the way out the tunnel! Met the lads, me son and his mates and had a canny drink. But the 3 kids will stay in my thoughts for awhile. Lovely day.
Great day mate, I thought everyone was in a great mood despite the weather ... ... I was in the standing area today, good crack in there.
Obviously the weather made things incredibly different but I thought some of the improvisation was praiseworthy ... ... one bicycle kick, from Hume, was fantastic. Jobe does something I've not often seen at Sunderland when he accepts a pass while marked and just rolls the player around behind him. It looks impossible and you keep thinking he'll lose the ball, but rarely does ... incredible for his age.
yes this from Jobe is where he’s improved massively. When he first joined he didn’t do this, he didn’t seem to know how to use his body. Now he’s supreme at it.
I thought Jobe was really good today. We didn't half miss him when he was suspended, he makes the midfield tick and Neil especially benefits from his presence. Here's today's stats for anyone interested, Watson miles out in front unsurprisingly. What was surprising to me is that our player with the most tackles, an impressive 6, was...Watson. Outstanding performance. https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1...gland-Championship-2024-2025-Sunderland-Stoke
You need to stop these opinions mate. He's not too heavy, Watson isn't like a 14 year old and Rigg isn't tired.
Eh? He’s allowed opinions. As are you. Everyone is. Personally I think Rigg is tired and I think Patto is heavier than last season. Whether that means he’s overweight or not is for the club to decide.
exactly, we can all watch the same game and find different things to gripe about or to praise...i thought neil had his best game this season, i honestly thought jobe had seen little of the ball but the stats posted above say he had the third highest touches, right now, i would have watson on every minute he can manage but once he shows 'those signs' i feel riggy is showing then give him a game or two break a sit certainly wont do them any harm and we should have enough to cover them. there are many i could disagree with after a game but i usually find out that my views will change across the season so i am happy to let others have thier opinion (nowt i say will change them anyhow) and see how i end up feeling, for instance, i have thought neil has been below par in a few games while others are sure he has been playing very well, today i feel we can all agree he had a very good game.
I'd argue Patterson looks big and sluggish. Maybe they've attempted to beef him to deal with the battles more? I dunno. He's still a good keeper, just not a massive stand out simply because of his distribution. Patto too suffers from our defence being amazing.
