Roberts was poor for 75 minutes today but the last 15 he was a difference maker. That has to be the standard for him now.
Over 39,000 officially, Tees, but I reckon no more than 30,000 (including no more than 100 from Stoke, judging by them being very quiet . . . . travelling all that way and hardly supporting their team !)
On the end of that clip, missed Frankie's comment the first time round " It's another academy graduate. What are they feeding them up there? "
I saw a Boro fan tweet 39,311 taking the piss - it did look a lot less than that on the TV Well done to all those that turned up
Sunderland's Regis Le Bris: "Players always need time to adapt. So far Tommy has developed very fast. We need that kind of profile. I like it. When you have a winger with the ability to run inside and outside and cross, it's a gift for a coach and a team. "Now he will face the difficulties every player has to face such as consistency and needing to defend as well. There are many things to develop but it was an interesting game for him. "He's very strong, he is a very good winger for this team and in this league. He works well and the system is well designed for him. We can use him very quickly and play to his main strengths. "He's powerful, he can dribble, he can move inside and outside and he scored. Today he was very strong."
Wasnt 39000 in the ground but the season tickets are counted regardless so could have been. Stoke fans poor possibly 300-400 ish.
Because they're better players, objectively, in my opinion. It's an easy decision to keep playing 09, he will always give 100%, he's popular and 7 times out of 10 he won't cost us. I'd hope Reggie is above easy decisions. Play your best players when they're available.
That’s absolutely wild IMO. Roberts was drastically improved today. One of our most dangerous players all game. More games like that and nobody will want him dropped.
He is the most exciting forward to break through in years , my opinion , your remarks were well short of the truth at the time but crack on..
Watched his for ages in the academy mate. No all about him. I am excited about his development however, as I watched that game I was genuinely taken back to how he was taken off the ball so easily. Hence the comments. I'll always say what I feel at the time.
