That keeper has always been class. I was amazed that others were not in the hunt for the 1m. Bargain.
Lets not base opinions over 90 mins. Ballard and Onein been regulars for 18 months. Ballard is a natural defender and together with Mempham we for first time will have 2 strong defenders who will dominate in the air at both sides of park. Luke plays like an old fashioned German sweeper. He needs the other lad to do the donkey work and he picks up the scraps on the floor. He rugby tackles everyone when defending corners and in my opinion of the three when pressurised by forward press is most likely to panic and give ball away. Ballard sent off v Mags in cup and Memphan last week trying to cover mistake. Luke owes us nothing and has played major role in getting boys to this point but going forward I think we have better options.
HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM Ah nar, am late Didn't wanna jinx it Finished nights this morning, late to bed, late up. Watta pìssing in from front door/ledge into hall FFS. Anyways, gerrrrin ya fooka. Well done Watson lad. Back to winning ways. Lets get that top spot back for Christmas.
I wouldn't have said he played a blinder or anything but it was a notch above some recent performances, and most importantly he notched an assist so as far as I'm concerned he did his job well today.
However, I said on 75 minutes he needs to come off. He then put a ball in which lead to the disallowed goal and crossed which lead to the winner. I was so pissed off with his shot on the second minute where he decided to curl it over the bar. Sometimes it's best just to blast it at the goal!
And for me that was his best game of the season , even the assist was probably genuine, at least he is not taking every corner and free kick now so thats some progress . If he ever breaks his 18 month drought in front of goal he will merit player of the century for some , no doubt about it.
That Oakie place has cheered me up no end, we are not any better than them and our first goal shouldnt have stood
In the words of Bruce Sprinsteen after his gig at the SoL. That was "Hellacious" weather today. Just had a hot shower to warm up.
On a day like today, you hit it along the ground. It forces the keeper to make a save and hopefully a rebound or it fizzes along at speed off the surface. Having said that, I love Roberts and while his confidence isn't high he's a threat imo.
Spent the morning getting soaked watching the grandson play football and losing his head at times. Got another soaking walking to the ground and then wondering if the wind was going to rip the roof off the concourse! I thought we played well considering the conditions, like in other games, we didn't take our chances especially in the first half and the more it went on, I got the feeling that Stoke were gonna nick it but so glad we won. Really pleased for Tommy Watson and hopefully now he can kick on and make Mundle work to get back into the side.
