I wanted him subbed with 20 mins to go but credit where it is, he was very good last 15. Always driving into the box and committing players.
Great win in minging conditions. Delighted for young Tommy, watched him a fair bit for the 21s and hes got all the tools to be a cracking player, just needs time to learn the mens game.
Spare a thought for the bloke behind me today ‘heavy ground today and Watsons a bit lightweight, gonna struggle.
cheers again RTB... horrible conditions the day, could see it on the early commentary, well done to all who turned up. Watson is looking more confident with every game, really pleased he got the goals he has deserved, roberts back on fire and neils best game this season made the difference i thought, could have had 5 by the end of the first half with luck and decent finishing. ref watch, nowt to complain about, think he is one of the better ones to be honest...no bad calls and likes to keep his cards in his pockets. my MotM goes to watson, not only for his goals but his play from start to finish, his movement, runs and linking play is way ahead of the expected from a lad of his age. got a decent month coming up so hope this game inspires fresh confidence,
The most exciting thing about Watson for me is that he’s doing this with just 11 league games under his belt. Think how good he’s going to be next season. He could genuinely be doing Clarke numbers.
What shocked me about him was he’s a lot bigger than I thought he was, imagine in a year or two he will be powerful as ****
Delighted with the win and continued pursuit of automatic promotion. To do so, we need to be more clinical on and off the park. RLB I am curious to understand your logic with subs. Would rather ask today than seem like a pessimist and ask after a defeat though sometimes like today it can be a bounce of the ball or deflection that makes the difference. We have outstanding young talent but they need managed carefully. Tommy Rigg & Bellingham all looked like needing a rest after 70 mins today. Keep them fresh for Tuesday. Isidor cramp, Why was he still on with great options on the bench and having another average game. Cirkin if fit should of started as he is our best left back, perhaps best in league. Waiting until after 80 mins, Alese mistake v Sheff Utd & Mayenda missing sitter today both after just joining match, Who knows but if both lads had been up to the pace of the game, by being on earlier, I would hope they would have scored and defended better. Dan Neil was oustanding today but like everyone makes the odd mistake. Dont crucify the lad when this happens. Luke is a sunderland enigma. A great lad but unfortunately to get to premiership we cannot choose team on favourite player basis. Hume Memphan Ballard Cirkin is the best back four at the minute. Patterson needs to be careful also as Moore done nothing wrong when in goal. We have the nucleus of a great team but manager has to play his part by using bench better. Hopefully the lads click soon and we start winning comfortably as we are dominating possession and stats in most games.
I have said he is a big framed lad and will add muscle to that over the next year or so. Look at his legs already, they are what they should be. If he adds a bit of power to his pace and ability he could a real superstar. He plays with his head up as well, which sounds daft, but not all wingers do. I think we have another good one on our hands.
Tommy covers ground so well and scores goals regularly as you will have seen , believe it or not I thought we would draw to day and my main concern at the start was that Tommy would avoid the resulting flack , he certainly did that, and for what its worth I think he will be fine from now on , in fact I think he will be great OaU.
