I assume this is on the back of the news that Elon Musk is going to back Farage with 100m to get him elected.

Do you have a Betfair account? PM me, I’ll offer you 3/1 against Reform winning most seats if you’re interested. You can have a grand on if you want.

No, I don’t.

I’ve got no interest placing money on Nigel Farage becoming the next PM. I truly hope it doesn’t happen.

I’m only highlighting what’s happening because I think it’s worrying.

We in this country are not immune from the influence of the populist right which is gaining ground throughout Europe and America. I agree that’s worrying.

It’s especially worrying when billionaire oligarchs like Musk start financing these right wing parties. Someone should have been asking questions about where Reform got it’s money from even before Musk started taking an interest.

How to defeat the far right? Deal with the widening inequality and failing public services which allows them to flourish, imo. That’s Labour’s challenge over the next 5 years. The Tories are dead, they capitulated to become Reform Lite, meaning all the decent conservatives will defect to the Lib Dems, while the hardliners defect to Reform.

I agree and especially agree that the Tories are dead. A good polling day for the Tories right now is 22%.

The bookies have them clear favourites for the next election.

Wishful thinking on yours and Archers part, I’m afraid.

I ain't no Labour man

But I hate the current Tories like

The TikTok Twitter generation we have now will hate any sitting government. It's all click bait ****e out there and no one has a clue.

With FPTP you ain't winning an election outright whilst still averaging behind the sitting government tho

I’m not totally against PR but looking at countries that use it doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Agree with you about social media. The landscape has changed for good with politics. Now it’s a propaganda contest.

I was so shocked just how quickly the worm turned against Labour tbf. I think they got a week grace period.

Thatcher and Blair got about a year, the expectations are just too high these days, you're never going to win over people.

If the Tories do get in, they are gonna be hated again in no time.

If Labour hang on to about 30% and the right win vote is split, they'll stay in another term. They have so little left wing competition up north these days

Like you say the tik tok generation is just a torched earth approach to politics. The worrying thing is that it’s all being manipulated by wealthy oligarchs from Russia or the likes of Musk and the shady ****ers who finance Reform, to promote a hard line agenda

A simple 10 seconds meme about how the woke are trying to force you to give up your car, drink methane reduced milk that will turn your kids gay, unfortunately is enough to sway people like @Sucky these days

Well then maybe the first thing Labour did shouldnt have been to bring up benefits cuts to the elderly and the disabled ffs,
Maybe get some of these companies to pay their fair share of tax rather than go after the most vulnerable.
We voted Labour in because we DIDNT like the current iteration of the Tories and they come in and just do basically everything Sunak said he was gonna do.
Starmer even laid the **** into Sunak in the commons for proposing benefits cuts, then upon election, proposes the exact same ****ing thing!
Not to mention some of the crazy thought crime laws Starmer is likely brewing up. I am beginning to really ****ing hate this country

The Blackwall tunnel into London will be toll from some point next year.

The charging for cars (different rates for other vehicles) will be £4 each way during peak periods, £1.50 off peak. The peak times will vary dependent on whether you are driving London or Coast bound.
