I agree with Jdub our squad is no way strong enough, we have hardly any pace. De ridder can't pass and has been seen for what he is a ' IMPACT PLAYER' that is all. We badly need a fast winger and another striker(if not two). Barnard looks disinterested to me , maybe it's just that he is getting back I dunno. Maybe all this is because I'm pissed off with our away form i'll see tomorrow.
i dont think Barnard is disinterested, just very veyr very short of match fitness - he hasnt played since start of April, 7 months out so its a while
that probably aint helping matters, but he played through it last year so im putting it down to match fitness (or lack of it)
I never said you did mate He needs more time and is more than capable of scoring, but it'll only work for him when the rest of the team is working for him
We have done fantastic at home, just need to transfer that home form into away form. Bit more depth needed
The last time we played before today you sacked your manager after losing to us, I hope you aren't going to do it again. Good luck with the rest of your season and your battle for promotion.
It sure sounds like a lot of disappointed fans out there!! Who can blame them. It would appear that are old achillies heel has not been treated and mended after all. We have been Lucky in that every time we have lost our near rivals have not taken advantage, that won't last for ever!! For some reason we are not producing while away from home. Not sure what needs to be done to improve things but something has to, that is for sure. Nigel is going to have to address the problem with the players as some appear to have lost form. Maybe they need freshening up?
We missed the chance to pull away from the pack but yet again most results went for us. Remember that we've only lost 4 games this season. We're still 2 points ahead of West Ham and even more from third and we're one game further into the season. We all knew that we were a striker short and that was even before we lost Connolly for a while, so lets hope we can hold our position until January and we get new players in. Really worrying is that Pompey are winning home games and we are losing away games..time to turn that statistic round.
Missing our little Chappers engine quite a bit, & yesterday we looked a bit soft up front. But, I have to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying this season, we've done ever so well & the foundations we are lying will be evident for a long, long time. Next Saturday, we have the chance to beat a Liverpool record set 40 years ago for consecutive home victories. Only a true wet behind the ears glory seeking noob could be unhappy with where we are right now. Moaning is fine, but keep in in perspective. The thing that upset me the most by yesterdays defeat is, seeing the annoyance on Nigels face. But, we draw a blue line & move on. Big week for recovering this coming up. On the bus.
