Our form isn't that bad, it's the results ...

... so near yet so far.

If we play like we did at Sheff Utd we should be fine.

from what I remember Stoke were just about the only team that did not double up on Clarke, not sure any championship fullback could handle Jack 1 on 1.

RLB can't think of an English word, that's the opposite of vicious, so asks the gathered throng of English journalists ...

    ... total embarrassing silence <laugh>

The French would say 'sympa' which, as you all know is short for sympathique, surprised Reg couldn't guess it.

    Cracker again RTB, thanks.

Performances last couple have been good in my opinion. Bit of something in the final 3rd is all that is needed. A week to work on that should be helpful.

I like your team RTB. I like Roberts but his form doesnt warrant a place anymore. I hope Mayenda can give us a real threat out wide. Watson stays in, was great at Sheff Utd. If he gets a goal I think he will take off and Mundle will have his work cut out when fit. I suppose if Cirkin is fit Alese has to drop out. Best left back in the league imo Cirkin.

I have a niggling doubt about Wilson in games like this. Will he be strong enough to get in front of his man and hold the ball. That seems a weak spot of his to me. I would be tempted to give Connolly a game as the 9 personally. He seems to have a lot of desire to get there first and hold it or win fouls.

Apologies if it's been mentioned already but did Mepham get 1 or 3 game ban? I assumed 3 for straight red but other people thought may be just 1.

Imo you can’t drop Isidor. Connolly is probably better at holding the ball up but Isidors hold up play and link up play is good, he gets a bad brush with that but if you watch the 90 back against Sheffield he does it really really welll. But let’s argue Connolly is better at it, you lose everything else Isidor can do

I also forget Isidor is only 24. Crazy the ability he had at that age

Le Bris also confirmed that Sunderland opted against appealing Chris Mepham's red card at Sheffield United, meaning the defender will now serve a one-match ban. Had Sunderland been successful in their appeal, Mepham would have been downgraded to a yellow card - and would still have missed Saturday's game given he was already on four yellows. Now, he'll sit out this weekend but when he returns the cut-off for five yellow cards will have passed, meaning he'll no longer be one caution away from a further one-game suspension.
