Like that guy they had in Wales on ‘Time Team’ that claimed to have made a big find but when they came to dig the site they found 20th Century barbed wire under the Roman artefacts. There was some loud beeping on that one.

Obviously the Lib Dems want proportional representation as they have no chance of being in government by first-past-the-post.

In four years time Sir Keith Stalin will be all in favour of proportional representation when his disastrous government is about to be kicked out but a Labour/Lib Dem coalition would keep them partly in power; and lock out the Conservatives and Reform. That is why the Left like PR as it allows the rag bag of different loonies to get together and ‘win’. Imagine a coalition of Labour, Lib Dem, SNP and Greens. <doh>

That was inevitable. They knew before the vote that at least 320 French MPs were going to vote against Michel Barnier and only 288 votes were needed to get rid of him. He surely knew his days were numbered when he pushed his public sector cutting Budget through without a parliamentary vote. The unions run France and the country’s pending bankruptcy does not bother them.

France is now ungovernable. Macron will appoint some technocrat – who won’t last very long – as he knows that under the French constitution there cannot be elections until July 2025. He is a lame duck and the ‘far Left’ and the ‘far Right’ want rid of him.

I must go and check the French bond yields. How much was this result already baked in by the markets? Generally they move before the fact not after it and they already looked bad on Monday. The bond vigilantes have not moved in for the kill yet on the EU’s second largest economy.

Very strange episode. I couldn't figure out whether the guy was trying to scam them or he'd just moved to a place where a previous occupant had deposited all this stuff.

The Christian England defender at Crystal Palace got a stern letter of rebuke from the FA for writing something religious on his armband because FA rules prohibit religious slogans. This is the same FA that went into a partnership with the totally discredited Stonewall to have all the players wear rainbow colours in support of sexual deviants.

Should the FA not have rules prohibiting sexual slogans and racial slogans as well as religious ones, just for a bit of consistency? What footballers want to do in their private lives is nothing to do with football. They are not paid to mince.

I used to work for a company that had the Stonewall logo on their stationery as they paid these cretins an annual fee to promote their support for deviants. How long until more businesses wake up to the fact that they are being taken for a ride by these arse bandits and gender ideologists?

I used our friendly neighbourhood Mr Google to find it. There is even a Wikipedia page for the place: Llygadwy

The ‘Norman ’ tower with 19th Century mortar, the spring that did not exist on a 1972 aerial photo, the aforementioned barbed wire under a sword. You might remember that the site’s owner did not appear in the programme, suggesting that he knew that it was a fake (he obviously did not build the tower). Usually on Time Team when someone was having their garden dug up they were happy to be along.

The episode is available on YouTube for those that want to reminisce.

Starmer has just finished delivering yet another change of plan, marking the 19th time he’s relaunched himself since becoming Labour leader in 2020.
    1. September 2020: Starmer used a ‘new leadership’ slogan to try and relaunch his leadership.
    2. January 2021: Starmer used another speech to launch the slogan ‘Secure, Protect, Rebuild’
    3. February 2021: Starmer launched his ‘New Chapter for Britain’ with a ‘policy blitz’.
    4. June 2021: Labour changed slogan to ‘Stronger Together’.
    5. September 2021: Starmer wrote a 14,000 word ‘mission statement’ with no new policies in an attempt to ‘reset’ his leadership.
    6. December 2021: Starmer claimed that after a year and a half of leadership, he would be setting out his ‘ideas’ to ‘build a new Britain’ throughout 2022.
    7. January 2022: A year after ‘secure, protect, rebuild’, Starmer reset his leadership with a ‘security, prosperity, respect’ slogan.
    8. April 2022: Starmer relaunched his leadership with a new slogan, ‘On your side’.
    9. June 2022, Labour confirmed another ‘policy blitz’ after their failed ‘blitz’ in 2021.
    10. January 2023: Starmer used a speech to reset his leadership and pitch himself as the ‘candidate of optimism.’
    11. February 2023: Starmer set out his own Five Missions for Britain.
    12. March 2023: Starmer launched his local elections campaign with his twelfth slogan: ‘Build a better Britain’.
    13. May 2023: Starmer set out his plan to reform the Labour Party, going ‘further and deeper than New Labour’s rewriting of clause iv’.
    14. October 2023: Starmer changed his Five Missions for Britain – ditching his commitment to the highest growth in the G7 to ‘get Britain building again’.
    15. January 2024: Starmer used his new year speech to pitch the general election as a change to ‘turn the page, lift the weight off our shoulders, unite as a country, and get out future back’.
    16. May 2024: Starmer relaunched Tony Blair’s 1997-style pledge card.
    17. July 2024: Starmer changed Labour’s primary mission again to ‘securing economic growth’.
    18. October 2024: Starmer was forced into relaunched his Number 10 operation following the resignation of Sue Gray.
    19. December 2024: Starmer delivers his “Plan for Change”.
How many resets will Starmer get to by 2029?

Nothing to do with that. I predict that most of us will be worse off in a few years due to higher taxes, stagnant wages and a higher cost of living.

So Labour haven't magically managed to fix the 14 years of Tory work in a few months?

    Wow. What a ****ing surprise.

How are your taxes higher now?

Building 1.5 million homes is huge but 'we're going to go for it' - PM

Who for? Why am I expected to pay for it? Would it not be cheaper to start deporting people who came here but don't contribute?
