Draw was the right result. We were comfortably the better team in the first half but only got one goal to show for it. You came back at us in the second and we had to scrap it for a draw. I thought Isak was fouled in the box (when at 2-2) but I also think Diaz had a similar situation (at 3-3) so it is what it is. I understand the ref blowing the final whistle when he did but it did look like a interesting situation.
In fairness he blew it when the ball was probably still in the air and time was up so it's actually fair enough. It's just that we had a 3 on two break away and the ball in our possession by the time anyone stopped playing so it looked worse than it actually was. (I've not reseen it yet so am perhaps just being biased here)
Well done Toon, you took 2 points off them, with Chelsea, City winning....and Arsenal currently leading. I'll take that for tonight.
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. It was about 30 seconds over the 5minutes and he blew before Isak crossed the half way line. It did look a lot worse than it was.
Took a point pleased with that. Liverpool join every other big club side to fail here. I think our players have a **** mentality unless it's a big club.
Liverpool lead reduced to 7 points. Keep chipping away at it, over half the season still to go and lots of big games to be played.
Draw at home. If that's the sum of your ambitions then fine. If that's the other way around I'm gutted.
Schar when asked about the excellent finish for the equaliser: "I was just trying to put it back into a dangerous area" Ok yeah, I'll accept the draw.
