Slade and Appleton 'played' for a sacking, Jones is going down the same route. With a nice long heavy contract in his pocket I imagine he is on the front foot with these pricks when it comes to meetings, I imagine he ties them up in knots as they do not have a f****** clue. He has a bullish personality and he would wipe the floor with Charlies bull****. But yes, this will not end well.
He’s a millionaire because of his pay offs at Stoke & Southampton. He will still cop a lovely six figure pay off from us, nice work for total failure at three clubs.
He will get one year’s money, minimum. We will be his final decent pay day in football. He’s a Welsh Ben Garner.
Commiserations to those fans who made it to the Valley last night. I remember when the prospect of a midweek evening home game used to be one I relished, despite the long journey there and back from West London where I've been living for 20 odd years now. Sadly I can't attend anymore, for the present at least. But from the descriptions given I cannot say I'm sorry I missed this game. We've played Crawley at the Valley three times ever. They've done us there twice now. All our other games against them (home or away) were EFL Trophy ones. This was our first league encounter with them. A humiliation.
Last night was the lowest league attendance I have ever seen for us at the Valley. It was given as 11,500 incl 500 Crawley, I very much doubt there was half of that in there. Most worrying of all, the North Upper was very empty. I think a lot of our ST holders have given up.
11,500? They are just taking the mickey now. It's a sad terror of the official attendance dropping into 4 figures, when fans know that happened 3 or 4 seasons ago. Do the Cayman boys really not know it as well? We used to get 5,000 or so for midweek Carabao Cup games. Never thought it would decline that far for a league fixture. Grim times.
