Who thinks we'll get a point next week? I have a sneaky suspicion that we will, we seem to play with more freedom away from home, except fulham & 1st half against spurs
i cannot see it myself but agree with one of the other posts in that i didn't see points at Everton, Stoke, or Wolves.
While I understand your frustration, it's weak to criticise in hindsight. Could NW foresee that buzz would have a mare and cost us the goal? Who's to say that taarbs would not have cost us two with his laziness? You now have the benefit of hindsight. NW didn't in the heat of battle.
Sorry 12thman that sort of answers itself? Of course we have the benefit of hindsight because we are talking 'post-match' and digesting the game ‘after events’. Agree we don’t know that if ‘taarbs’ had come on he could have cost us two goals, however I am dealing with facts and not ‘if’s’. What happened in the ‘heat of battle’ was not good. I for one have always been fair with NW and praise him when things are good but if you think that its ‘weak to criticise’ after drawing with WBA today, then when should we criticise when it’s too late? Not good today
Ellers saw your earlier post and agree. The one where you say if you think something was done wrong you'll say so, and alternately if things are done well you'll praise. As you say, as supporters you always digest the game after.
A funny comment to make seeing as in the past year he has gotten away with blue murder.....bizarre time to start teaching him a lesson. Should have done it from day one or let him carry on as he was...
I agree that Lambert and Hodgson have 'out-subbed' us in the last couple of weeks. I don't want to join the debate over whether Buzz or Taarbs was the best option today, because I don't think either have what it takes to come on and change a premiership game. Neither is an impact player in the mould of Holt or Odemwingie. In fact, I don't think Taarabat had a good scoring record as a sub even in the championship and Buzz has hardly played for a year. In other words, NW may have made the wrong choice today, but he doesn't have the options on the bench that other managers have at present.
I didn't think anyone could of come on and performed less effectively than Bothroyd. Take a bow Akos Buzsaky. Buz was lightyears behind the pace.
Jesus Col, if i had of posted this thread i would have been attacked from everywhere. I am a big big NW fan but i have serious reservations about his ability at this level. I have asked this board many questions about NWs ability at this level and i have been heavily criticized by many on here. Don't get me wrong, i would not swap him for anybody else at this point in time, however............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! The simple point here for me is that QPR and NW are on a steep learning curve. This is the Prem, it has changed incredibly since we were last in it. Our team has a lot going for it and we will be OK, but we seem to be very slow in learning how to win games. I suppose that this takes time. If you look at our performance (except Foolham), we have been pretty consistent for a newly promoted team. All thats missing for me is a little bit of experience and "know how". I reckon we have lost 7 points from winnable positions through inexperience by our players and management. Those points are now gone and may cost us dearly as the season goes on. NW was very slow to change our formation when the whole world could see that trying to fit Faurlin, Derry and Barton into the same team was just not working. IMO he is too slow to make a change and usually his changes are reactionary and too late to have an effect. Just my thoughts Also guys, we cant just look at teams like WBA and expect to beat them. They are a pretty decent team who went to Villa Park a couple of weeks ago and won. We have no god given right to expect to beat anybody. Don't forget that most if not all teams will be targeting us for a handy 3 Pts.
Just back from the match ..... well had a few much needed pints and a curry Where to start with this thread? Have we all forgotten how abjectly appalling Taarabt has been this season? There is no way I’d have brought him on at 1 – 0 up, absolutely no way. Can you imagine the reaction on this kneejerk board had Warnock brought Taarabt on and the same thing happened? Smith, to me, was the obvious choice. He may not really be quite up to this level, but he would have played solidly, done nothing stupid and retained possession. It is all well and good criticising Warnock for bringing on Buszaky, but the game should have been done and dusted by then. Barton missed a sitter as did SWP, were those misses also Warnock’s fault? How about the very poor decision by the linesman, was that Warnock’s fault? I’m not saying for one minute that he should be above criticism, but let’s keep a sense of perspective. If Warnock cost us the match, so did Barton, SWP, Mackie, Bothroyd and probably a few others.
Second that sheffordqpr, let's be real for once.. if we won 2-0 nobody on here would even think about questioning NW ability. We missed good chances on scoring our second goal, but there was something more worried thing happening the final ball delivery was not there. We should have punished West Brom in our counter attacks in the second half and thats why i think NW brought Buzz in , cause in general he is a good passer of the ball, not NW fault Buzz messed up his chance and lost a crucial ball which led to West Broms goal. Such things happens in football, if Buzz had got the setup for another goal from us it was a good substitution. NW also had easily could have chosen for Derry and killed the game right there. But mind you people on here would be again very negative about NW if West Brom should have scored after the Derry substitution. Anyway happy where we stand right now. Liverpool will be very hard to get something from i reckon, but Man United are way off their best form showed in August and September. If Loftus Road will burn like it did against Scum we are not without a chance.
Warnock used the terms fabulous and fantastic when describing the team's performance during interviews - delusional! Still love the guy nevertheless.
If Liverpool expect us to turn up 'lambs to the slaughter' they may just get a surprise, I wouldn't be surprised if we get something from that game... Yesterday we were undone by a dire error from the linesman, SWP was a yard onside when the ball was played...
