I barely watched any boxing over the last few years . I was fairly certain Paul would win , but I wasn’t aware of the rule changes . Had I been aware that might have got me to ignore it . As we have Netflix and I was awake I gave it a go . Pardon me for watching it !
Congrats to Max, damage was done in the first 10 races of the season. After that he was helped by drivers taking points off each other, Lando had too much to do. Great weekend for Mercedes, dominant from FP1 all the way through to the end of the race. Been a while since that's happened. Great drive from both George and Lewis although the latter will be regretting his awful Q3 which cost him the chance of winning. Still, going from 10th to 2nd is an excellent drive and will be feeling an awful lot better.
Great race for the Mercs. I do hate the way that if you drive quickly you end up wrecking the tyres though. F1 should be about driving as quick as you can, not tyre management.
A simple VSC would have prevented both Lewis and Sainz picking up punctures. A wing mirror is a considerable piece of debris. Once Bottas hit it, there was glass and all sorts sprayed all over the straight. Time to get paid professionals to steward races.
That is a real shame for all concerned . IF he tries to park it tomorrow , that will be unforgivable for me .
Ooof. Leclerc has his lap time deleted so starts last with his grid penalty. Will make it a fun race.
Due to a bollard his car picked up on his last hot lap. Very unfortunate. I actually think he'll look forward to coming up through the pack in the race.
Yeah, he and Charles will provide the interest today. I fear that McLaren will hold formation and walk away with it.
