Disagree. Nearly half a second quicker in the sole practice session they have means they’re quick, and he’s got his set up looking good.

That should be a minimum of a 5 place grid drop for Max there, blatant blocking of George on either a q3 warm up lap or a Q3 quali lap.

Max got demoted 1 grid place for his slow driving that nearly caused George to crash into him.

A 1 place grid drop, have you ever heard anything like it.

Should be a good race- Russell, Verstappen and the 2 Maccas should duel this one out in a close one.

It seems like the stewards took various mitigations into account and reduced the standard grid penalty. I do like that they listed the reasons, because we’ve been here before with deviations from the standard and it invariably leads to calls of inconsistency. Could have been a lot worse for Verstappen e.g. they could have applied the “Max Tax” and given him a 5 place drop.

Agree it should be a good race tomorrow given the way performance has swung around I think any of the top 7 have a chance.

I don’t understand why any penalty was issued .at all ?

Nobody was on a fast lap , and at the time Anthony Davidson said RBR should get away with it , as nobody was really pushing .

I see it as setting a precedent of not impeding at any time. With the current tyres they need very specific warm up laps to get the best out of them. Max seemed to be on the racing line on a cool down lap and was looking at his mirrors, so might have seen Lando but either way he messed up a warm up lap.

Fair comment Ched , I think they’ve opened a can of worms .

I also don’t agree with changing things during a season .

If rules need to be changed , change them after the season ends ( unless it is a blatant safety issue ) .
    Which IMHO this wasn’t .

Sacking your senior race directors seems to have been a mistake.

These penalties are getting silly, I have no idea how many are yet to be implemented or looked at! I wonder who else didn't lift on the straight when the yellows were out?
Nice that Bottas scored a point.

Lewis wants to shut up .

it’s all well and good him throwing his toys out .

what about all the workers back at the factory , all the team at the circuit .

He’s not the only one , but I’m getting sick and tired of all this Primadonna boll**ks .

    And while I’m on a rant .

What is happening these days with all the running to teacher .

The drivers reporting other drivers .

This sport is starting to really wind me up :steam:

    And yes .

    I’ve had a **** day !!!
