As I mentioned above we may already have that DM if Sameed can get fit. I hope he does because I think he could be the missing link in that midfield and would also give us the extra depth that we need to rotate. Now s the time for one or at the most 2 quality acquisitions, we do not need wholesale changes.
Good to see Tom Watson getting some praise and encouragement. 18 years old, still just a little boy that we need to support. Hopefully he's nurtured, looks a talent.
The club have brought in, and brought on, some very good players in a short space of time. That process is gradually improving the club imo. We’ve tried the quick fixes of ‘just two or three quality players’ before and it’s all gone wrong. How will the likes of Mundle, Watson, Mayenda make progress unless we allow them to hone their skills in games. It may mean losing a few, in the short term, but the benefits in teamwork and team spirit will be worth it. We could’ve brought someone in more ready than Jobe last season but those games have made a massive improvement in his game. And unless we show we’re willing to allow young ambitious players the chance to play, and learn by their mistakes, we won’t attract them in the first place. I get the feeling there’s a wish to push us up to the PL, as quickly as possible, by whatever means necessary irrespective of what happens next. Sheff Utd showed, last season, how that turns out and will happen again if they go up … … muscle, height and stamina doesn’t keep you up. We currently couldn’t afford to buy Patterson, Hume, Cirkin, Ballard, Rigg, Bellingham, etc and would struggle to replace them with better. So I’m content to allow the process to continue and watch a bunch of committed players doing all they can. It’s all very well wanting a few ‘improvements’ but we’ve all seen a hundred times how they can actually make things worse. These lads aren’t perfect but you can see, especially away games, that they’re sweating blood for each other and the club. I’ve seen an endless stream of high priced Rodwells, Grahams and Griggs come here and absolutely stink the place out. I really don’t want to come out of grounds thinking the support has put in more effort than the players … … it’s soul destroying and makes it a very long journey home.
I agree that he will be gutted about the red he caused that may well have cost us the game (along with Roberts, everyone that played imperfectly for the goal, etc - I'm a blame boy today!). But it its true that he gets to keep his place for at least another week when he his definitely under threat (love him to pieces and everything but I think this is true).
Interestingly the main one I want replacing I think is the second or third oldest player and I’d love a youngster like the ones we’ve developed in that position
Hello everyone, I’m 6 jakeheads deep so just popping on to say we are massive, Règis is sound and will sort us out, Luke is sound but can be a silly sausage at times, we’re gan up, see yous all on Wembley way and lastly, LEE HOWEY LEE HOWEY LEE HOWEYYYYYY YA BROTHER IS A ****
ffs, onien played a bad pass...how many others during the game did the same? a loss is rarely all down to one mans bad choice but more down to a team that did not play well, onien has been putting the best crosses into the box that we have seen all season, riggy and neil have helped control the midfield along with jobe but they will all have bad days or be in need of a break. we all get upset/angry after a defeat and it is all well and good calling a lad for a mistake, he will expect that, the problems begin when one particular lad appears to be watched for every minute of every game just so one mistake can be highlighted over and over by those with an 'agenda'
A realist would look at table and points won. At this stage just accumulate points. We are good enough to win automatic promotion
