    1) That was probably the longest set-up I can remember. 43 minutes must be a record? Everytime we got the ball in the second half we seemed to be trying to carve out an opening for him. Great patience from the whole team throughout

    2) David Nugent would be a great addition to any championship team.

    3) Beckford. Haha.

    4) The entrance of Dudgeon in CM showed our lack of options from the bench. We need more strength in depth as evidenced by our last 3 games. Oh to have another Nicky Barmby!

Still WiP but getting nearer all the time.

Agree with all of this, very patient build-up and some brilliant football throughout the second half down to a few factors (see my thread on todays ref).

Nugent is indeed a very good player.

As for Dudgeon. Cairney was on the bench so the option was there but he chose to bring Dudgeon on instead. Clearly he had confidence with him playing there more than a natural midfielder. He seemed to do fine to me. We could do with more options but with all the players on our books (the ones we're using plus all the loaned out ones and youngsters) I don't think we could sustain a much bigger squad. We just need to get a few players back from injury.

Beckford has always been ****, and I'm always laughed at when I point that out.

    1) Agree. But why cos the two centre midfields cant play a forward pass. Needed TC.
    2) Agree.
    3) Disagree.
    4) TC is a far better CM than either Warwick Davis or Evans. TC get your coat son you are leaving. I wish you well, there is no point in staying where you are not wanted.

    Agreed mate.

I said before i thought Roko should have been man of the match for us, because everything did come through him. He dropped back alot to get the ball because there wasn't much space in the middle.

I also said there's nobody i'd want in that position- coming onto the ball and smacking it into the net. He offers so much more to the team when he's in the middle than stuck out wide. The City fans were getting restless at the time of the goal and were desperate for someone have pop rather than keep on playing it out wide and backwards. And Koren deilivered with a beauty.

Agree with this, someone said to me after the game that Koren was **** apart from the goal and the more I thought about it the more I realised it was bollocks. He was on the ball all the time throughout the second half and he tried to burst through them a few times but their midfield (who are very good players) stood firm.

He completely saved TWS against us last season. We drew 2-2 but it would have been about 100-2 if they had a mere mortal keeper.

Am I the only one who thinks Paul McKenna is looking really solid for us now? I think he's grown into the team and made a great contribution today.

    <ok>

I also saw McLean's miss for the first time last week. I wish I hadn't. The last 10 months had been bliss.

On point 2 I remember thinking at the time that NP was making a mistake taking Nugent off. He was having a great game and was working his balls off.

Which was worse- that one or the one against Donny at the KC where he stopped the ball on the line and passed it back to the keeper?

Pearson's instructions to his team were 1) don't let Koren shoot, 2) don't let Koren shoot and 3) Don't let Koren shoot. He had a sighter half way through the 2nd half that went over the bar, but that strike was exquisite, if Rooney had of scored it - the pundits would be drooling over it and showing 38 replays and calling it world class.

When we got behind their defence we should have done better. Rosey got his legs tangled when Evans (not sure might have been Mckenna) played him through and Stewart should have cut it back rather than shooting straight at their keeper.

What pleased me most about today was that Barmby got his tactics spot on after they had a man sent off. Their players will be cream crackered tonight. We must have passed the ball across the front of their penalty are 100 times in that second half. Leicester were a very good side with some very experienced players and they defended very well....it needed patience. The way we gradually wore them down deserved a goal. Well done Nick.

Was surprised Dudgeon came on instead of Cairney. Either Nick wanted more pace in the middle or TC has had a falling out with him.

That was a sweet victory today; there's nothing like a bunch of young lads putting one over on a bunch of overpaid primadonnas.

The squad is desperately short though and someone needs to get Koren sat down sharpish otherwise he will walk, how many games is that he has won for us?

I think Barmby might have wanted to prove a point that he can add another left back to the field of play without it causing the messageboards to hammer a point home

i am a big cairney fan but I think to bring him on for the last 5 plus today would have been suicide with Leicester pushing so hard

He was decent for TWS, but he looked even better today, better than I expected.

McKenna was great today, my MotM, he barely put a foot wrong.
