Or, if it’s going to take that long, just give a goal. The game is about goals and entertainment.

Just bin it would be the best solution tbh but no chance of that sadly.

Last night was the loudest I've heard our fans chant against it though which was nice.

See I don't. It's the lack of consistency in it that I find frustrating.

I thought one of Arsenal's goals should have been disallowed when we played them for a very similar thing so it'd be hypocritical for me to say this should have stood.

That said I reserve the right to change my mind if I lose my bet with @LincolnSaint by one goal <laugh>

I thought the yo-yo model could be successful under the right conditions? Either they’re incredibly stupid and naive, and think RM will keep us up, or they’re not that concerned about relegation.

They’ve may be concerned but the loss doesn’t outweigh paying off RM and splashing out on a manager who demands big bucks to come into this **** show.

I have no issues with yoyoing if we make incremental gains each time. However, we cannot do it with a bloated squad and need to trim a lot of fat.

If we go down and can keep Fernandes, I think we will have a much stronger team than last time.

Don't see any realistic chance Fernandes hangs around for the championship.

Well, you never know! I have zero hope of staying up so will place my hope in keeping at least one top talent.

We’ll sell some to raise funds no doubt. And our most sellable assets are Fernandes and Dibling. Ramsdale will go too, but doubt we’ll make much on him as we spent a decent wedge. I kind of think of him as a season long loan except he won’t go back to the same club at the end of the season.

Right so I've watched the highlights back and the disallowed goal. My view is that goals should not be disallowed for that. However it was given offside on the field so I'm far less hacked off then I would have been had VAR disallowed it. My one gripe is that Jones, the on field referee should have sent to the monitor to make the decision himself as he is the referee.

Diaz is an extremely poor footballer. Can't even putit into words.

Didn’t we say this about Joe Aribo, when he came into a dysfunctional team? Maybe he is but he wasn’t before he landed at Saints.

If I am honest I thought the same thing about Walker Peters.

The one thing which plays into our favour is the length of his contract. It should hopefully mean that we can stand firm on a reasonable transfer fee, without any need to sell him on the cheap. In which case it comes down to whether anyone is prepared to pay that fee.

Although I suppose it also means that we could loan him out for a year, and then have him back if we come straight back up.

I'd still like to know whether the linesman flagged for Archer or Armstrong.

I'm sure the PGMOL will say it was Armstrong, but the fact that they spent ages reviewing Archer first would suggest otherwise.

Flagging Archer offside on the field would have fair enough, because even on the replay it looked to me like he was slightly ahead (but wasn't). But flagging Armstrong offside, just awful.

Defo Armstrong. I was there, Jones was clearly in communication with him before he put the flag up. It was obviously a conversation about whether Armstrong was interfering. If it was Archer he would have put the flag straight up.

I will add to this IF he put it up for Archer he was clearly guessing which is not a good look for a PL match official.

VAR should be made to talk through the review like the 3rd umpire in cricket. I know there’s a lot more to review in football but at least they wouldn’t be able to hide behind their decisions & would be made accountable.

I think cricket suits video refereeing because it isn’t about grey areas. Football is far more fluid and the spirit of the game is in its pace and spontaneity. Where video has improved things for umpires, it has made football officials second guess their on-field instinct. It has also ruined the flow of the game.

    Overall, it is crap.
