Disappointing not to come away with at least a point. Got to take our chances when they present themselves. Roberts is offering zero at the moment and missing the penalty won't have helped his confidence. Rigg looks tired as the game progresses and although I like Wilson he just doesn't do enough for me as a 9. Maybe time for mayenda to start as a 9 again. Horrible cheating bullies Sheff Utd and we're allowed to get away with far to much. Still not convinced Mepham would have seen a red until all the protests. Awful. Anyway time to get back on track 3 out the next 4 at home. Reinforcements in January and we are still going to be amongst it. Disappointed but far from downhearted.

According to Wilder, they were in charge of the game after the first 25 minutes! Must've been watching a different game to me

Aye next Saturday is a good opportunity to get the big 3 again. Makes a massive difference instead of a single point.

Le Bris says Sunderland played the game they wanted to play and "dominated the most important part of the game but struggled to score..."
"If you don't kill the game then at the end, you can lose. It is a shame."
"We didn't finish. It has been the same for five games."

Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris told BBC Radio Newcastle:
"We are frustrated at the end of the game, because we demonstrated a good level against one of the strongest teams in the league.
"We controlled the game and we were dominant but we didn't score.
"I hope we can keep this mindset because we have a good level, but we have to find some details to change the dynamic.
"We created chances, so it's a shame. We did well but it was not enough."

I think RLB knows what needs to be done in training, hopefully that can happen this week

It's not realistic to expect to go to the top team and dominate the entire game.

Even though the momentum did shift it was hardly an avalanche and 'backs to the wall'.

Wilder and his team made just as many errors, gave the ball away as much and struggled to score ...

... one team got lucky and that's being realistic.

Momentum shift meant nothing in that game. They weren’t pinning us in or we getting battered

we just saw less of the ball then

I think it follows the same games as before though. Millwall, Coventry etc. All recent games where we have started really well and then ran out of steam. That's why we concede so many late goals. I think it's perfectly realistic to expect the manager to make more frequent subs to stop the momentum shifting in this games.

Yeah saw it last night, that's the most annimated I've seen him after a match. He usually plays with a straight bat and gives nothing really away but you could tell he was not happy

Quite right, just as we miss Mundle, etc.

It's all very well saying 'all teams have injuries and suspensions' but ours have been to absolutely key players and, at times, we've lost two in the same position. Jobe returning made a massive difference as will Cirkin. We've had a tough month, with too many hard away games, but the next month looks brighter imo.

No it wasn't. But less of the ball and momentum shifting means we lose control of the game and concede opportunities, which is why we are conceding so many late goals.

Anyway. Weeks rest and hopefully a return to the big 3 next Saturday.

Imo we didn't batter them in the 2nd, we started the 2nd pretty well controlling the tempo of the game but creating very little - Isidor had a good chance which he should have hit the target

From about 65-70 we struggled to keep the ball high up the pitch and recycle our attacks. Watson coming off took away the one player that was causing them issues, he was positive throughout

Def proud of the team tho, as watched it back this morning and we were the better team for the majority of the game. We had a couple of sloppy moments defensively which led to their chances and the goal but other than that we were comfortable

If we play like we did last night and against WBA but find that attacking spark again we will be back to winning very soon

Stoke game is huge now, very winnable game so hopefully back to back home wins will stand us in good stead

Still don't see 6 teams better than us in the league, January is still massive for us tho

Realistically, making changes often hurts rather than helps.

When that happens people will say 'the wrong subs were made' irrespective of how the other team throws everything at you. Coventry, for example, threw the big lads up front and took chances because they had absolutely no other option.

Saying we ran out of steam is looking at it too simplistically.

This is why finishing costs us. Because we’re having to push for longer for a goal and we’re knackered. Before this run when we could finish, it wasn’t happening

I don't think it is. We have been the poor team in last 20 for many many games. How many times have we said on here we have a great first half and then we have a poor one. The eye test and the stats back that up.

We need to use the bench better to prevent or at least, give us a chance to stop this from happening.

That's true but being that clinical all the time is not sustainable. That's why we need to have greater control in games over longer periods.

Be interesting how he sets up next week. Personally I would like to see mayenda closer to Wilson to create so havoc in opposing back lines.
