Can I just ask what's people's thoughts on their c/h robinson having been booked for the penalty and then was the main man in chasing the ref down shouting for the red card to be giving for mepham, I thought that it was only supposed to be the captain that is supposed to speak to the refs to stop all this hassling from the full team. Why was he not shown a 2nd yellow for exactly the reason what the fa is trying to stop. It might just be me being soft but I thought the ref had a half decent games but was a bit loose for both teams last night but how can he ignore what his chiefs have brought in this season and what we have had players booked for in past games, Roberts has just had a suspension for his 5th booking for exactly this reason
Hasn’t quite got the final flourish right yet but nor did Mundle 6 months ago.,Great movement and well disciplined . He’s definitely going to be some player. Great to see.
Desperately. Whilst he is undoubtedly quality on the ball, we’ve all said he struggles to “strike “ it properly. Should be getting 5-10 goals from the positions he gets into.
Hes looking really good on the counter running into space but currently not seeing the early enough pass so when he does cross the defence have reset giving Wilson no space .. experience and minutes on the pitch will solve that though ..another great prospect
At the start of this season he got himself a bit of space and hit it early just behind the defenders. He’s back to his usual. We can’t have a forward who creates nowt and scores none.
It's why he's had his chances at some big teams but ultimately his goals for is what those teams look for. Think we need another R/W in January as I don't think poveda is the player to replace him, only other I see to be able to play there is mayenda.
I like Mayenda on the last defender because of his pace. Mind Isidor is also quick. I’d play Isidor wide right then we have more goal threats.
Given how he has progressed in each of his three starts, we’d be mad to take him out. Each one of the three has been a step change. I reckon a first goal by the time he’s up to 5.
For a creative player how many assists did he provide last season or the start of this season , how many goals did he score last season or the start of this season , far to few as far as I am concerned. As I have said on a number of posts he is a talented entertaining player but I am of the opinion that he needs replacing or at the very least competition for his place Mayenda is quick and direct and might be a short term option till the transfer window opens .
Sheff Utd are a direct reflection of Wilder and the whole club should be booked or, at best, sent off. They're a bunch of sly, cheating oafs with big mouths and thick heads ... ... the referee was decent but allowed them to bully him just as you've said.
I think yesterday showed us how good RLB can be. we went away to the best team in the league and battered them. if only we could finish
I think it was similar to other games. We were very very good first half. Then we ran out of steam again. The drop off was canny noticeable.
I don’t agree at all we battered them second half in the 3141. Everyone at the ground felt the same way. we were brilliant yesterday. We need to finish better. That’s all. I’m not having negativity about yesterday I’m proud of every one of them we went to the best team in the league and should’ve won
Having slept on things and had a bit of a ponder on last night's game, I still think we were very unlucky to not have come away with at least a point. Another game of fine margins, if we score the penalty we probably go on and win the game as we looked pretty solid as a defensive unit and made them look ordinary. We go again against Stoke with a week's recuperation and a chance to get the ball rolling again
Thought that he was the Captain, but that doesn't excuse the other 3 or 4 getting into the Refs face. I thought that had a big bearing in him producing the red card, that tackle was a yellow all day long but never a red, the forward stopped his own momentum by trying to change direction, he was heading into Ballard, it was never a clear goal scoring opportunity. Club should appeal but bet they don't.
I think we started the second half really well but from 70 mins then momentum did shift. We had lots of good moments in the game, I'd agree with that. You can see the momentum shift here
IMO I don't think they're the best team, that goes to Leeds for me. Sheff Utd are one of those "workman like" teams who don't really stand out but keep picking up points - like last night. In the first half we played some really good football at times and had them panicking so they reverted to the snidey fouls and pushing which the referee only pulled them up for half of what they were doing. Personally before Mepham's red, I thought we should've had a foul in the middle of the park when they got the ball back. I thought Hamer, even though he's a good player at this level, deserved to be booked a lot earlier than he was and their other centre half should've gone as well for constant fouling. Obviously RLB has players who he trusts 100% in the way he wants to play but he needs to use this week to get others who are on the bench up to speed so they can impact the game otherwise they might as well be in the stands rather than the bench. Rigg for me looks abolutely knackered mentally and physically can could do with a few games on the bench, Roberts needs to be taken out of the side also, he can be brilliant one minute or picking the wrong option the next but whatever the reason, it's just not happening for him at the minute. Which would leave 2 places up for grabs in the next game - someone mentioned putting Isidor on the right and I could go along with that and either Mayenda or Connelly up front. We're a work in progress at the minute and we're going to take some knocks, January is going to be a big month for us in the transfer market and I think we're going to have to shift players out before we bring anyone in but I think we're not that far off being a seriously good team in this league - there's no team to be really scared of and after the way last season went, we would've all took the position we're in at the start of the season.
Anyone else think their manager wins the ****er of the night award. His reactions to and after the goal was as if he was about to win the Champions League Final and not 3 points in the English second division. Looked like Reggie and him had a difference of opinion after the final whistle. Surprised he didn't take his top off and run round the pitch ala David Pleat. Have some dignity, win lose or draw just like Reggie does, what a prize bellend.
