I'd be tempted to put Roberts in the Rigg role for a couple of games. Just think Rigg is starting to look a bit burnt out. Currently as it stands for me Roberts is the only creative player we really have and Wilson seems to be crying out for through balls which no one is even attempting.
We've been unlucky more than anything else, we need to ride out this dip, we all knew it was coming, let's get back to winning ways and gain momentum.
Incorrect. The first thing I posted was a reply to you having a go. I then just give my thoughts on why we are struggling at the moment. You're on here at 06.00am naming me having snide remarks. That's the issue. Now talking about self help and stuff. Are you ok? I can assure you I am absolutely fine, you seem like you have got an unhealthy obsession over me. Hope you have someone else to name at 06.00 or at least talk too. Otherwise I do have some pity for you.
Good point. At some point RLB is going to have to trust some others to play. It's a bit insane how many minutes of these very yong players are being asked to play. That's why I am not surprised we keep blowing points and conceding late. It's mostly down to fatigue and not being in the right place.
The margins here are absolutely tiny. Let’s not forget the youth of the team and the pre season hope, playoffs. We did not deserve to lose that game, again. We have had injuries to key players and collected draws, rarely losses. There’s a little ‘something’ missing and for me it’s the issue we have had maybe all the way back to Sessegnon, a truly magical, creative player. The lads have been brilliant but we need someone who can make a bit of magic out of nothing in the middle. We haven’t got that. Leeds remain the only team I think are well better than us, I wasn’t remotely impressed with Sheff United. We have to keep our heads and the players have to keep theirs. I’m confident we are in a position to add in January if we are anywhere top 8 and touching distance when we get the then I’ll be ok and ready for the second half of season. Let’s continue to back the lads, keeps the faith and do what we do. Stand back and look, we are 4th, we’d have taken that all day. We are a good side and we haven’t fallen apart we have been a little unlucky and a little short. Without the red we probs it win at QPR and with game management we win last week at Millwall and we still top. It’s that tight. We are in this and we need play our part. Penalty goes in last night we likely don’t lose. Tiny margins. We all knew before a ball was kicked we’d be short at times in some areas. I agree RLB needs to trust the squad more. There are players there who could influence games in cameos.
Again, you're showing an unhealthy obsession over my views. RLB has done amazing and made us hard to beat. However, he needs to trust his bench and use the squad. Young players can not be relentlessly played like this or mistakes and injuries will really hit him and points will be thrown away. Last month is a prime example of this.
Canny assessment and I agree with it. Jan will be interesting. We definitely need to add squad depth and move a few on who RLB doesn't trust.
100% mate. We thought we were strong CM, and we are but we are lacking a certain ‘type’ in there. We need a proper 9. I love Wilson of course but we need a sniffer, a lad who’ll step to the side and have a smash. Imagine Super Kev in this side man… We lose so much without Cirks and we haven’t the creative CM to counter that.
FFS, stop fighting with each other, piss off and do it elsewhere, this is a forum for football, not somewhere to have a bitch fight
Yeah I agree. We don't seem to create that many chances and I love Wilson but the issue we have outwide means he doesn't get into the game enough for me. He has been quiet for a while and that's never a good sign.
Right lads . . . . We all know about Prehab's negativity and dislike of a couple of our players, but he's still, undoubtedly, 'one of us' and entitled to his opinion, so let's stop 'having a go at him' It's not ruining the thread, but it's definitely making it less attractive, and RTB, especially, won't be pleased with how it's now going !
Couldn’t agree more mate. We need to look at both sides and galvanise. If this is our ‘bad patch’ 1 loss in double figures will do me.
Still disappointed. Yet, we've gone to a side who will be right amongst it, who have parachute payments and been the better side. Watson was a real plus and at times they struggled to deal with him. We're struggling to finish which is frustrating. I do think we'll batter someone soon because the ball just isn't falling kindly for us, it did for them for the goal, a ricochet back to their lad then it goes under Patto. You can't miss penalties. Its a really poor hit from Roberts, no conviction in the strike at all and a pretty routine save from the keeper. It was a good height, hit with no power and wasn't right in the corner. If the keeper guesses the right way you're in the ****. He's frustrating lots of people at the moment. We need men back. Imagine that left side with Cirkin bombing on supporting Watson. Probably time to give Mayenda a go on the right side too.
I was more disappointed with the Coventry and Millwall games than last night. I thought we played really well ..we arent far away and we are not getting any lucky moments currently which all teams need . We do need to move afew squad players on and replace with ones RLB trusts though . Interesting Jan coming up
Thought the first 40 minutes yesterday up until the Mepham red was the best we've played all season when you factor in the opponent. The press was high and effective, we were getting the ball into dangerous areas, creating chances and barely let them come forward. That has to be the benchmark going forward now.
They were very good first ten then we we dominated until the sending off, then we did for much of the second. We didn’t deserve to lose that game. Ultimately they had quality on the bench that are ready for this division, but that’s because they are loaded up with parachute money. Massive respect to our club for generating a side that can perform better from minimal resources and youth. Exciting times ahead for us.
Watson is starting to look very much a first team player mind. He tormented them at times and few more games and he will get a swagger. Lad could be something very special down the line.
He is good when he has space to run into. His final product and decision making needs a load of work. That's expected given his age. I am not of the opinion he is a starter but with Mundle injured we don't have anyone else. We could play Wilson on the left and Mayenda up front. That would give us better press across the front 3.
